Had River Plate in his heart and played for the club on 3 occasions. Also played for Monaco and PSG in France and for DC United in the US.
He made a name for himself after appearing briefly for Argentina at France 98 and was then bought by Monaco in the summer of 1999 and was part of a great team (Barthez, Marquez, Lamouchi, Trezeguet, Giuly) that soon got decimated the following summer (resulting in a awful CL campaign). He goes back to River Plate in 2003 but returns to France in the January transfer window of 2007 as he joins PSG. Coincidentally he scores his first goal for us against... Monaco. He only stayed for a year (scoring the grand total of 2 goals) then went to the US, back to River Plate for a third time and finally ended his career in Uruguay with Nacional.
Thanks for the 2 goals Marcelo...
