I know you wouldn't mind playing in the EL, but surely, with the squad you have, and after the fuss you* made about finishing in the top 4, going out in the group stages of the CL would be a disappointment?

If City win and Napoli draw, City go through. But I'm pretty sure I covered the two possible outcomes.

It is definitely not a certainty that City will go out, it will be a fully-motivated City side against a Bayern side with room for experimentation, so I can possibly see a win there, partnered with Napoli's indifferent form travelling to Villareal (having not won an away game since October 1st and only 2 all season) then City have a right to be partly optimistic. I'd say all three results are possible in the El Madrigal, it's not a nailed on Napoli win.

However, City just have to focus on winning there own game first and then looking at events in Spain. Villarreal are in dreadful form (7 losses in 10, won 3 all season and yet to score at home in the CL) so you'd maybe expect Napoli, with Cavani, Lavezzi and co. to just have too much for them and they'll start as favourites, unfortunately for City. Who knows though, pride is a big thing for some clubs.

Don't worry mate, you'll have to get used to this as you'll be playing in this every year.

I don't see City even winning tonight so it doesn't matter what happens in the other game.

Of course, we've made a couple of defensive mistakes and been punished. The standard has shocked me, it's a learning curve. We'll be back bigger and better.

It'd be a shame if we went out but it's better than playing in division 2! We can't complain, we're the luckiest fans in football. We've won a trophy, everything now is a bonus. It's brilliant.

Tbf they got the group from hell and haven't embaressed themselves like United have over the first 5 games.

If Bayern play a full strength team tonight I can't see Citeh beating them but if they rest a few...

Think City will win, either way it should be a pretty interesting match. Hopefully full of goals. This draw should teach City they need to focus on doing well in the Europa League to get a better CL co-efficient next season.

City going out will probably lead to them steaming the league though..

Don't see Bayern winning as they don't need to, they might rest a few players and it'll be foots off the pedal for them.

City need to win, I think they may do but it's all down to how Napoli fare.

I always thought Napoli would qualify with Bayern and I think they will with a win at Villarreal.

Yeah I fancied putting a fiver on them to win @ 4/1 earlier as even though they are through, the German sides usually give a good fight and this Bayern has the potential to win it all this season and with that in mind, they might want to put out a statement of intent. I can't see them losing this game.

A weakened Bayern side which is kind of unexpected to me, was thinking Heynckes may go for a strong team, but he's the boss. Most significant to me though is Mancini's decision to play Savic at right-back, which would make sense for a more reserved defender to play vs Ribery (lesson learnt from Munich with Richards), but he's not playing, which makes it slightly odd, especially when City's system will depend on rampaging full-backs to attack.

not watching city, but i have napoli vs villarreal at present as not much else on, pretty entertaining game as the away side is of course going for it.

if any positive for city fans here it's Napoli missed an absolute sitter in the first few minutes than had what looked penalty waved away.

it depends the defending en masse is bloody dreadful in this napoli vs villarreal game.

i can certainly se napoli scoring as they get behind the villar defence time and again, but can see the conceeding also, but of course if they score it will make them go on the defence.
