You know, I'm a little relieved that the speculation is all over. Words cannot begin to describe how much I hate the board for doing this to us though. I wish nothing but bad things on all of them. First time in a while am looking forward to a Vale game on a Saturday as a chance for us to finally rally round and try to save the club.
I know what you mean but f^ck em! Look forward, the past is gone.
That which does not kill us makes us stronger.
Goooooaaaaaaarrrrrrrnnnnnnnn Vale!

It's high time the FA stopped sitting about in their ivory castle writing stupidly long reports about whether someone is a racist or not, and actually did something useful to football for once.
At least this admin should rid you of the leeches.

Irregardless of rivalries, we're all football fans and I would never ever want a club to go under. Even Stoke.
It's criminal how shysters can rock up to football clubs and destroy an integral part of the lives of thousands of people.
The FA and the FL are fucking useless and the fans are the ones left to pick up the pieces.
Portsmouth, Rangers and Vale, and it's only March. Christ.
As I posted on OVF -
Right, this is the beginning of a new era.
We're going to ****ing pull through one way or another.
I expect a lengthly statement from the council tomorrow explaining their decisions and then the Supporters Club to call a meeting of fans at some date in the near future. Hopefully when time passes and we know what's going on, the Save the Vale campaign can get going and we can raise money to pay creditors and club staff.
Get down to Accrington in force and get behind the lads who are playing for free.
We are all Vale, we've been through this before and we'll beat it a second time, only we will not be lumbered with incompetent crooks at the end of it this time.
Vale Till We Die.

My only concern is how big the deduction is. I hope to God it is only 10 as I think we will have enough in the tank to survive, anything bigger makes it a huge last two months on the pitch as well as off it.
I know we have never been everyone's cup of tea in this division, and I know we will inevitably get flack about admin.
The things I would say are that the fans have never seen any upside to how our club has been mismanaged. And the messages of support that we have had in recent days do mean a lot. Thanks for them and lets hope we are still winding you all up next season.

I'll laugh my tits off when Deakin gets put out on the street. Lloyd, too!
Oddly enough, I felt worse yesterday when I heard about the winding up petition than I do now about admin and the points deduction that will follow.

No doubt you'll come out of admin a hell of a lot quicker than Notts did about 9-10 years ago, which was a laughably long and desperate time, but some how we've come out stronger now. Should give and others optimisim for the future.

I hope an investigation is going to happen about what those in charge have been up to for the last 6 months when it's been pretty clear to everyone else what's been going on. It's disgraceful that these people are allowed anywhere near our football clubs, let alone them being able to create a mess as big as this.
Don't hold your breath, after our wonderful board ran us into the ground they were able to walk off into the sunset and not look back and we are still no closer to knowing what £6m in other operating costs equates to.

I no it is easy for me to sit here and say it but look at other clubs that went through turbulent times with previous owners and bounced back and came back stronger, Donny Rovers, Carlisle, Bournemouth, Hull City to name a few off the top of my head. Have no doubt the same will happen to Port Vale.

Always enjoyed my trips to the Vale. A good club with decent fans who say it as it is in the main. Good luck and if you come out the other side with better owners it will all have been worth it.

I don't understand this. Are Deakin, Lloyd and Oliver still directors at PVFC? If they are then SEO should continue until they are not.
Also, they also seem to think that once Admin comes, OLD will just disappear into the sunset and MC taking over is a formality. Has the last 18 months not shown that they will desperately cling to the club for as long as possible. Also, it take weeks and maybe even months before a new owner can formally take charge.
They will have some tricks left up their sleeve to remain at Vale Park I'm sure.
And finally, there is a reason they are desperate to cling to power. Who knows why, but 1 reason I can think of is that there are some serious skeletons in the closet at that club, which they will do their upmost to hide. I don't think anyone knows just how bad or how much the actual debt amount is at the club.
I'm just saying that there seems to be this "its done and dusted" attitude amongst some in OVF at the moment. They perhaps need a reality check and realise that there is a long long way to go yet.

Even had an offer of help from an unlikely source in Tony Pulis and Stoke, problem with that one is knowing our rivalry the police bill would dwarf anything raised most probably.

A few articles from the Sentinel today. Basically it looks like we could need up to £600k to fund administration and also to maintain the club as a going concern. The tax bill that HMRC are seeking the winding up petitiion for is approximately £88k. Having slept on it, it just disgusts me that this has happened and seemingly from what I've seen Micky Adams have to say on it he thinks the same.

Shows how daft the rent-a-mob are at Vale!! Surely there should be no trouble at a fund raising / charity game to help the club??? If the idiots associated with vale saw that as a great chance to have a fight with their Stoke counterparts, above and beyond the chance to help raise money, and save the club, then they are even more disgraceful than I thought. And not the brightest either.
A nice offer from your rivals, and one I hope happens and £££ can be raised for Vale.

They really are incompetent fucking pond life aren't they?
I can't wait for them to lose everything.
Even Adams has slammed them in the media. As have players and ex-players.

I'm not going to get into this with you on this thread but there are people on both sides that wouldn't need much encouragement especially after a beer or ten. You're right it's a nice offer, the practicality of it happening is what I'd question. The police in any case friendly or not will insist on a big involvement for this game which costs money. I agree it's sad but that's the reality.

I can empathise.
Not wanting to start a war but it may be the lowest point now if you eventually find a backer. I just hope that they don't hate you like they hate us for doing it.
I genuinely wish Vale all the best.

The club also came out with a nothing statement, merely clarifying that the club hadn't ALREADY been forced into Admin, but didn't say that it wouldn't get forced into Admin in the near future.
Any reason for Admin being delayed by 3 days?

HMRC will automatically vote no on any CVA but if your bill is only 88k they alone won't be able to make up the 15% which would mean involentary CVA abd further points deduction. But then it depends on who else money is owed to and whether they will accept the offer.
We went into admin around this time last year and expected to be out of admin by season end ready to rebuild for the new season, finally in October, rock bottom of the football league with staff and players having recieved 55% of a months wages in that time, we eventually exited administration.

Any Vale fans that think that admin is a simple plainless way to oust the directors and start afresh are in for a sorry surprise. It is a long and painful road. As the board are currently showing, they will do what ever possible to keep hold of the club. Once you do eventually enter administration in comes the administrator who will attempt to sell anything that isn't nailed down. Once anything of value has been stripped away the vultures will begin to circle, so don't be surprised if you see the likes of Peter Ridsdale taking a walking holiday in staffordshire in the not to distant future. Now of course, even if you have a decent purchaser with good intents there, the administrator is required to pick the bidder who offers the best deal to the existing shareholders, not the one with the best intentions of the club at heart. Then comes the fun bit where those owed money haggle to get as much possible.

I appreciate the insight but to be fair this is not new territory to us. The current owners got into the club when we were in administration 10 years ago.
The one thing I am clinging to is that local millionaire Mo Chaudry gets a bid in very quickly as I think he will be the only interested party to be honest. If this is the case then it might be a quicker process for us than you think. If it isn't the case then I really will worry for our future existence as we won't have millionaires queuing up outside our main entrance with suitcases full of £50 notes

I hope for your sake thats true, our process never should have dragged on so long but Ridders saw his chance of getting his hands on the club for a £1 and his good friend Brenda didn't want to disappoint him and kept giving Kevin H****y more and more time when it was painfully obvious to everyone that he did not have the funds to complete the purchase and Brent should have been turned to July/August time and not October. I think there was at least 4 "final" deadlines that came and went for H****y and still Brenda refused to talk to other serious bidders.
In conclusion, if you appoint P and A partnership, it will be up to you guys to make sure the club is saved, much like it was a small group of our fans that kept James Brent interested and sat him down with the council over ground talks and made sure everything was in place for a quick deal when fan power eventually meant Brenda had to turn to Brent and tell H****y time was up.

Well it is pointless us wanting someone who's got no money isn't it?
Football is all about money nowadays so any prospective owners will need to have a large amount of funds to pump into the club to turn it around. Only in the long-term can someone turn any football club into a self sustaining business (if that is even possible at this level) but the long-term aim can only be reached by the funding in the short-term

You can't retrofit sustainability to your business model. It has to be planned for from the outset. Otherwise, it isn't going to happen.
