We're nearly at the start now so for a bit of added interest (although plenty already exists thanks to this sub-forum!) I've decided to do a sweepstake. At first I planned to just do one for teams but I will do a separate one for golden boot as well.

Obviously there are 16 teams to pick and I've got a list of 32 strikers for the golden boot. Therefore, ideally there will be 32 entrants so two will share one team, and you'll each have an individual player. This hopefully means that if your team gets dumped out early, you might have some interest still. Of course maybe you'll pick a shit country and a shit player from that country but who knows!

In the event of an unlisted player winning the golden boot, the highest scoring listed player will be the winner. If there is a tie, the player with the greater number of assists (as per the McDonald's Fantasy Football stats) will win.

I will put up a prize of a year's premium membership to the winners of both sweepstakes so there is likely to be three winners.

Simply pick a number between 1-16 and a separate number between 1-32. I will edit this post as we go along with your picks.

A couple of other things...

Let me know if your player is out for some reason - ie. injured and I will replace. I can't keep up to date with the likely teams of sixteen sides!

Also, there are some players who aren't strikers per se, but thought it would be better to include a handful of these rather than some no-hopers who play up front - although all players (I think) are listed under strikers on the fantasy football site.
