So which manager is going to be the first to get sacked by his club? We've already had 2 managers leave on their own accord during the close season.

Not sure if any of the bookies are offering odds on this yet.

My money would be on Slade, Knill and Smith. All 3 could be close to going and if they start badly, they could well be out the door. So who's your money on?

Westley, Clearly not popular around Preston and a couple of defeats could see them calling for his head.

I think Slade is a good shout. Any of the teams expected to do well generally have a manager sacked by October time. Thorn at Coventry, Saunders at Donny and Wilson at the Blades are my shouts.

there is zero chance of Turner getting sacked, regardless of how bad we are doing.

My money is on Westley - I thing his scattergun transfer strategy plus his bizarre communication methods are going to catch up with him before too long

It definitely wont be Di Canio , I would say our old friend Danny Wilson will be under massive pressure if the Blades dont start well

You know many Preston fans?

If we aren't in and around the playoffs in the first few months then I would expect Thorn to go.

It will not be Karl Robinson. Winkelman has only ever sacked Danny Wilson and Paul Ince and they were not even announced as sackings but resignations. We are a soft club!

It won't be Slade, we went 10 matches without a win at the start of last season and he didn't get sacked. He also signed a new contract halfway through last season and Hearn won't sack him with 2 years left on his contract.

I don't see it being Westley, the board have backed his squad makeover and will give him time to turn it round.
Could see Thorn or Wilson going if their sides start really badly.

Could be tempted to stick a tenner on Neale Cooper at Hartlepool after what I saw yesterday. They were a complete shambles and it's so close to the season starting.

It won't be Smith.

Agreed. Even if, say, we're bottom then Smith won't be sacked. It's his side this year, whereas last season and from when he took over in 2010/11 it was largely Hutchings' shite. He should be given a chance and I'm sure he will get just that. Our fans have taken to him and will be forever indebted to him, after we somehow survived in 2010/11. I still don't know, and I doubt I ever will, how we stayed up.

Russell Slade will be a very very very good bet.

We started last season without a win in 12 games and finished with 2 wins in the last 16.

Barry Hearn is a very patient chairman and once again backed it up by not sacking Russell last season - When most chairman would.

However, even Hearn has his limits - 6 defeats in a row this time round and he will be gone. No Doubt.

Westley for me, bit of a loose cannon really. - I can see PDC walking if Swindon are doing well, and a bigger club comes knocking - We all know where he will end up if he continues his decent managerial start.

Have a sneaky Appleton will be shown the door un'all, more so for reasons of finance as to performance.

Suprised no one is mentioning Bournemouth manager Groves for me he stands out a mile as one to be sacked.

somehow got job having hardly won any matches as caretaker, with a bizarre set-up behind the scenes there which has seen big spending but alot of wacky other things happen.

fans who i think have not warmed to him at all, plus big expectations to do something considering the spending.

think he could be gone if not top 6 early, maybe only saving grace for him is it seems if fans hate him it may mean owners love him as they seem to like to rile the supporters.

Im struggling to understand why bournemouth with there wealthy russian investors did not go for a higher profile appointment in the first place?

Slade is treading on thin ice, 95% want him gone now after the first 2 games.

He has reverted to the long ball game and he hasn't been able to pull it off, two dire dire performances with next to no chances created. Playing players out of position, worrying far far too much about the oppositions strengths and making subs far far too late in the game.

With any luck Hartlepool will knock a few past us and he'll be gone by Monday morning. (Won't happen)

I know we'll end up with either Kevin Nugent or Lee Bradbury, but after 3 wins in 19 now, we clearly need a change.

There is also the possibilty that Slade will break his own club record 2 years in a row - We had our worst ever start last season with 5 defeats in a row, stick your money on Slade to break his own dreadful club record!

Glad to see that Brisbane are pretty much in agreement that he has to go. The sooner the better of course.

Slade has to be the first to go.

Knill is neck and neck in my mind. He had a piss poor season last time and has made a similarly poor start this time around. His neck is on the block.

Appy will surely walk if Chainrai comes back in, that's unless Chainrai gets rid of him first.

Then, the idiots who still think he is some kind of saviour will realise what an absolute twunt of the highest order he is!

While certainly the usual Abbott love/hate relationship will take another twist (and already has) among our support and would not suprise me to see calls for his head again if we lose saturday.

abbott probably has one of the safest jobs in this league unless it utterly goes wrong, is at least 5 maybe more occasions i can remember fans baying for his blood, our board is extremely patient.......worry could be one day they are too patient, but he'll not be a first sacking.
