Going to this. Really can't wait. I love going on the train up north.

I'm yet to see Orient lose in the league. No chance the jinx is starting on Saturday. 2-0 Orient.

Hahah we are missing some key defenders but by all accounts going forward last night were fluid if not very effective.

How have you guys strengthened/weakened this season?

Wallace & Robinson are an utter dream by the way, be scared.

We both had ET the other night, so will be interesting to see how the game pans out.

Jones

James Clarke Cuthbert Sawyer

Baudry

Griffith Smith

Cox

Symes Lisbie

Subs:

Allsop

McSweeney

Chorley

Odubajo

Laird

Mooney

Brunt

Looks like this season we will be using the diamond formation alot of the time with Cox getting a free role. Lisbie and Clarke didn't play the full 120 the other night which will be useful.

Game will either be 0-0 or 1-0 2-1 either way. Slade badly needs a solid start.

I expect us to lose.

Rovers have some defensive problems, but improvised quite well last night. I can't see us keeping a clean sheet, so score-draw or narrow Rovers victory. Probable line-up;

OFW
Holmes Taylor Gibson Bakayogo
Thompson Wallace Palmer Robinson
Akpa Akpro Cassidy

I wouldn't mind seeing Cole Stockton start. Sounds like he had stormer last night. Unsure about Joe Thompson, he's looked poor in all the pre-season games I've seen.

However we lineup I cannot wait for Saturday. Decent performance last night, Villa in the cup, 2 days to the start of the season...life is good!

I'd also like to see Cole Stockton keep his place; Cassidy apparently looked a little rusty pre-season, but would expect him to get the nod. Suppose both could start up front, with Akpa Akpro moved out wide, although that seems unlikely. Haven't seen Thompson yet, but anticipate he'd be ahead of Bell-Baggie, who is more of an impact player.

For the first time in a long time i'm looking forward to the seasons opener, can't see us losing to be honest and remember, Ronnie is unbeaten as manager in 25 home games.

3-1 was the right result. Tranmere were better than us overall and were clinical in front of goal. Think Akpros second deflected a bit but he took it well.

We barely looked like scoring or creating OFW saved well from Mooney right on half time. Our RB position was exploited as our weakness time and time again. Tranmere dealt with our long throws and set pieces well.

If Tranmere play like that against most of the sides around us his season they will be fine. Their makeshift backline won't have easier game though!

We looked better when Symes came on, penalty was soft. OFW lucky to stay on the pitch after he threw the ball away after being booked.

Slade under pressure already, lose the next 2 home games and the fans will turn on him and he'll be halfway out the door.

It was a stroll in the park for us, think our midfield can be one of the strongest in the league, Wallace ran the show, linked up well with Robinson and Palmer, AA took his goals well, and now Ronnie is unbeaten in 26 home games as manager.

Orient fella - did you attend?

Way you make it sound is that we will survive in this league this year - do you not think we have the potential to be a bit higher?

Also hope you saw the funny side to our fans at the end.........

If any clubs like ourselves, Tranmere, Hartlepool, Oldham, Yeovil etc want to finish higher than the bottom ten - We need to hope our first choice 11 stay fit. If your midfield stays fit for 40 games, then yes you may well finish in the top half.

Sadly our best defender went off at the start of the second half with a hamstring injury - which didn't help.

Cuthbert and Clarke dealt well with what was thrown at them in the second half, but there is only so much they can do.

The bit wit the fans keeping the ball at the end? Doesn't bother me, game was up, what goes around comes around though!

Wont have an easier game than that all season, but can only beat what is infront of you.

The stats showed that Rovers had 75% of possession. It didn't seem that much, but our first goal settled us after a spell of pressure from the Os and thereafter the result didn't seem in much doubt.

I was expecting more from the visitors after their good result in midweek. A lot of physically strong lads can be difficult to play against, but Orient didn't take advantage of those opportunities that came their way.

I went with The Terminator and actually wondered (as I don't watch Orient often) whether it was just us being awful or was it that Tranmere were actually quite good. Now I'm no expert in the division but I reckon you have a good side and that you should be looking at a top 6 push rather than over your shoulders when March comes. Still very early in the season though.

Slade organised Orient in a way that made us clueless going forward. I don't recall the Tranmere defense being worried at all until they were 3-0 up. The two lines of 4 were so rigid and never ever helped the poor top 2 who couldn't do much with long balls from our makeshift RB. Our CBs were quality though and I thought Baudry was quite good (yeah really) but that was it. I'd be surprised to see Slade last the season if that kind of performance is repeated...

Pretty happy with that result. Not getting too carried away though because Leyton Orient were poor, if they perform like that all season they'll be definite relegation candidates.

Think we played pretty well, midfield looks the strongest it's been for a long time, defence were fairly untroubled. For me, the best thing about the game was actually seeing us get at the other team and scoring a few goals. Last few years under Parry I've seen so many boring 0-0 games which do no favours for our ever shrinking attendances. More of the same please!
