Well the season arrives at Gigg Lane to find our team again without a manager as Richie Barker and his fantasy football tactics moves on to the growing giant of Crawley Town.

Who picks the team..today it is Peter shirtliff, tomorrow?? who knows?

Names in the frame go from Paul Ince, to Paul Hilton, and in between you have ex players and Teletubbies galore.

The team will be similar to that which lost to a second gear Middlesbro it seems as we are actually very short on first team striking options.

Brentford, towards the end of last season, did to us what many a paying customer does to a Charlton fan in a tesco bag and showed us that they are a good unit.

I will be happy with a draw, expect a defeat, and hope that if we win...it does not secure the job for shirty.

Any travelling Bees, there is a shortage of matchday boozers at present....unlike you with the four corners/four pubs scenario being actull;y superb (imo)..

I would suggest that you come off at J3 M66 and drink in the paper Mill for a family environment......or if on the train cross the road to Lloyds bar.

enjoy your trip.......This is to be the season that defines our destiny

0-3 defeat

Knowsley, two tubbs and the trackside are decent town centre boozers

Nice bottle of Javer, quality lager served in the trackside.

If I stumble into the two tubbs it might be a pint of warsteiner, first day of the season itd be rude not to.

Proper beer in that place, stout, bitter, lager all good gear a real quality boozer.

My mate Bainbridge son of Christopher seems quite excited by the redevelopment of the Clarence thinks it will be an awesome pre-match boozer. Could be an ideal replacement for the waterloo :)

1 - 1 and we need Bish to be playing regularly. If he gets games and can prove his fitness then goals will come.

Does anybody have a timescale for the much anticipated re-opening of the Clarence?

Does anybody know if the micro brewery is definately part of the plan?

Does anybody know which of our plethora of talent will be cutting the ribbon at the grand opening?

Will it be an Elbow (or two even!) ,will it be Danny, will it be Gemma A , will it be Lisa or even a Corrie actress (or perhaps a group of Corrie actresses even!) I can hardly sleep!

It was expected open in June....so something is holding it up??

Micro Brewery is defo on site.

Prices will be a hurdle i am told..they like the idea of £3 a pint according to the wino who sits in the trackside

I would expect the opening to include Peter kay.....just a hint seeing as he is the mate of the owner like ;)

Finally the season is here!! First trip to bury since you beat us 2-0 in 2002 (we were third, you were near the bottom ...ended up costing us automatic promotion) so hopefully it will be a slightly happier trip....
Can one of you good folk remind me how long it takes on the tram from Manc picadilly?!
I reckon 400-500 bees fans for this ...we've got a much better squad than last year but still lack the firepower at present to be really serious condendors ...so I'll go for a 1-1 away point to start with ...

That was our last win of the season and at the time gave us real hope that we would stay up, easter monday 2002 Chris Billy brace, the first a 20 yard volley top corner job. Handbags between fans after the game as well :tomf: .

Good gear if you bring 500 odd, might knock the crowd up a bit. Tram should take 20 mins or so, plenty of boozers int centre when you arrive

Cheers rigby ...we've just sold myles Weston to gillingham leaving us with two strikers ummmmmm.
I remember the game and afterwards well, the handbags were simply due to the high stakes in the game and the fact it was one of the only times we've taken a thousand plus up north ...the good old days.

I'm thInking draw tbh! Hopefully we'll give a more attacking threat that last week! Brentford look like a good side and I think they'll be in the Playoffs come the end of the season!

We are the sane ones on this board, it's not the size of the dog that matters it's how well it bites.

I have just witnessed (video) my old establishment being trashed with depeche style mode songs last night

Bury fans...i would have been there but i was slumming it at a private darts festival with some of them there top players.....guess who won? not me! 3 of 180 in a row Scott waites threw in the decider..bar steward..anyhows

its not the size of the dog, it's whether she is dirty, and nibbles not bites......IMO like.

strange goings on with David Unsworth officially on the guest list...

Not a bore draw and some tasteful off the ball stuff again from Brentford.

We had our chances, but yesterday we could not have finished a sentence.

Cockernees look hard to beat and Saunders ran large chunks of the game.
