A right back. Has confirmed it on his twitter account. As EPPP cat 3, we couldn't really justify keeping him after his second year and you, as EPPP cat 2, can afford to keep him on your books and see how he develops in the under 21's. A few of our fans are quite upset he's been released but personally I'm not sure he's quick enough to be a modern full back. There could be a decent player in there (centre half, maybe), but it may take two or three years to find out. You have that time, we don't.

Fair enough, thanks for the info on him - guessing he's someone who won't be in the first team picture for a while yet then.

We have signed harris who bury fans seem to rate and peterborough fans were split on his release. Seems like one for the future at 18 but at the same time could have some impact on the first team. Not a bad start.

We have today extended contracts until 2014 for Gary Mackenzie and Jon Otsemobor and have released Mathias Doumbe.

Shit news all round. Otsemobor isn't good enough for a promotion chasing League One side, yes he has a few good games now and again and scored 'THAT' goal but he isn't good enough in my opinion.
Mackenzie has only had his contract extended so that we get a fee from Blackpool who are nailed on to be signing him so that's a slight positove but negative in the sense that he is leavingand Doumbe who is arguably our best CB without Mackenzie has been released, yes he will be 34 soon but he could still put in some good shifts.

We have signed up 17 year old academy player Dele Alli on a 3 year deal which is great news as he looks a good prospect from what I have seen in his limited first team appearances. All we need now is to sign up Giorgio Rasulo when he turns 17.

I know a couple of posh fans and they said he looked very good at reserve level and wanted to see him make the step up But never got his chance and thought he could do a very good job in league 1. Those on the forums basically say what you have. Bit strange you pay money for him and release him a year into a two year deal

Anyway signed james dayton from kilmarnock this morning. Admittedly i know nothing about him as hoping yeovil and crawley fans could help us out here. Read off the kilmarnock forum he is far too good for our level but is suspect with injuries.

Guinness? Please... Jed will settle for a pint of watered down Fosters so him and his LADS can have a knee's up and start a punch up with board members of rival teams again.

Absolutely chuffed with that signing; he was so classy on loan and really key to our good run. Exciting deal.

Played a major part in our title campaign, forging a really strong partnership with John Dempster and scoring some important goals for us. Defensively, I'd say he's pretty normal, but a massive threat from set-pieces despite not being the biggest.

He probably won't have cost you that much either, so it's a low-risk signing. I would definitely have kept him if we could. Wish him all the best for the future.

One or two lower league players ok, but so far all their signings are lower league. assemble a lower league squad you end up in a lower league

Luke looked a very promising defender when he was with us a few years ago, one of a number of talented young players scouted and signed by Gary Peters, but he was then released by Paul Simpson who wouldn't know a decent player if he saw one. <_<

I'm not surprised to see him making his way back up the divisions, Not the best with the ball but a very good defender, a good signing for Stevenage.

In terms of Town, the first of the five players offered new contracts has responded. Aaron Wildig has signed a new one year contract.

Tounkara, Jones and Wedgebury come with positive reviews from their former clubs which is nice to see, obviously it doesn't mean they're going to make the grade but at least it gives me some optimism that they might be able to make the step up to League 1 level.

I'm relatively pleased with the Jones signing, he'll add decent competition for both Roberts and Ashton, my enthusiasm might be slightly dampened if Robbo doesn't sign a new contract though.

Heslop's a strange one, when he became available after his loan spell at Luton I'd have been delighted with his signing, he went to Oxford and haven't heard much about him since. Oxford fans seem absolutely baffled about this move, there's a link on our forum to a discussion about his playing record last season, 1 Oxford win in 16 with Heslop and 16 wins in 21 without him.

Slightly concerned that all the new signings are having to step up a level (or two for Wedgebury and Jones) but I suppose we can't afford established League 1 names. We have to hope Westley's knowledge of the lower leagues is good enough to build a squad capable of competing at this level next season.

Wedgbury is ace, both in the BSP and when we were in League Two.

Don't forget some of the best players have come from the lower leagues and non league, these lads just need to be given the chance.

To be fair, Jack King was a great find by Westley on a free from Woking, I'm a big fan of his.

Keith Keane could have also been a player of the season contender if it wasn't for injury too, after moving from Luton, a proper fan's favourite.

He did a good job putting a squad together, he just couldn't manage them.

That said, for every Jack King, there is an Aaron Brown, Anthony Elding, David Amoo with the G-Wezzle

Jack King was quality at StadiumMK. One that stands out when I think of good performances against us.

Tom Clarke on a free from Huddersfield (2 year deal) is officially Simon Grayson's first signing as Preston manager.

Potentially a useful addition if he stays fit which seems like a big ask, can play across the backline and in central midfield, primarily brought in as a right back though.

They also signed Stephen Schumacher from Bury for an undisclosed fee, I can see them coming up this year to be honest.

No idea how they are getting around the turnover rules.

Let's hope they enjoy it, they can keep the good memories on their trip back to the Blue Square North with them in a few years time.

We've signed Oumare Tounkara from Bristol Rovers & Luke Jones from Mansfield

Sam Wedgebury from Macclesfield & Simon Heslop from Oxford also sign

Bloody Hell, he's at it again, can't knock the swiftness he gets things done, i'll give him that.

One or two lower league players ok, but so far all their signings are lower league. assemble a lower league squad you end up in a lower league

Certainly cause Posh really ended up in the Blue Square Conference after an influx of signings from that level of football. What a ridiculous comment to make.
