How Easy Was It To Find?
Usually it is a very tricky ground to find but this time I did some research on the AA's route planner website and get every signle turn that would needed to be made. Plus in the car we had Mr Collins who's missus is from Southport so this time I will give it a rather high rating.

Car Parking. Was It near? Was It Free? Was It Well Policed/lit?
Nothing in terms of parking right near the ground with a parking facility. Parking on the street was the only option

View. Pillar In The Way?
Poor really. I wasn't stood high enough on the terracing and basically I had to crouch to see under the crossbar.
4/10
Comfort (seating, leg room, does it have a roof etc)
Open terracing no roof. It's near the sea the wind really does circle round the ground making the trip always a very cold experience. Southport is a must for two pairs of socks, everytime I've been. Inevitabely it rained so it wasn't the most entralling of experiences.
6/10
Toilets.
Portakibin. Absolutely packed. 3 urinals and 2 booths. Not the best when 500 away fans all want a piss at half time. They didn't smell though and we're kept relitvely clean.
5/10
Catering (Quality, price, queues)
Never I repeat, never get food from Southport. It is the worst food that you will ever taste, ever. I didn't fall for it this year and I'm glad for it. They always run out of anything by about 3:30 as well. Shocking

Atmosphere From Home Fans, How Condusive Was The Away End To Creating A Good Atmosphere
The home fans were abe to make a bit of noise because of the covered home end but it was only ever heard when they had a corner. Fans need something to get excited about to create atmosphere. Southport haven't scored for about a decade so it is understandable really. The away end, as I mentioned before, is uncovered so it is really difficult to create any noise. Some of the noisy chav supporters we have went up to the stand took their tops off and banged loudly on the back of the stand.

Stewards, Policing
Horrible over zelous stewards. No standing for too long despite being on terraces seems to be a rule of theirs. No drum either. They've always been the same.

Pubs, Things To Do Nearby. Is There Much To Do For The Early Arriver At The Site Of The Ground?
Southport's town centre is a pretty nice place. However, we always go to a pub just between Southport and Preston and it really is a gorgeous little pub. Can't for the life of me remember the name of it though.

How Easy Was It To Find?
Straight forwards if you have decent directions
7/10
Car Parking. Was It near? Was It Free? Was It Well Policed/lit?
Parked on a side street near the ground, so it was free, but not policed.
6/10
View. Pillar In The Way?
Its an open terrace, therefore, there are no pillars in the way and the view is unobstructed.
9/10
Comfort (seating, leg room, does it have a roof etc)
Comfort? None whatsoever! When we went, it was freezing, and it rained, well, it rained torrentially, and hailed, and there was a nice fork lightening storm too. Everyone got soaked to the bone, even with coats/jumpers on etc. I sat in the car on the way home practically naked with just a dry coat wrapped around me, not a pleasent experience! What annoyed me was that they had a nice dry stand, with practically no people in it, and they wouldn't move us in there.
0/10
Toilets.
Nothing spectacular, average.
5/10
Catering (Quality, price, queues)
Didn't have anything in ground.
NA
Atmosphere From Home Fans, How Condusive Was The Away End To Creating A Good Atmosphere
We made a great carnival atmosphere, despite the fact we were so wet, songs such as "we only sing when we are swimming" were aired. We were also winning 4-0 and it was our first win in 39 years at Haig Avenue so we had something to sing aboout. Southport didn't. But, seen as its open, we were probably quiet to them!

No problems really, aside from being mean and not letting us sit down where it was dry!

Pubs, Things To Do Nearby. Is There Much To Do For The Early Arriver At The Site Of The Ground?
Lovely chippy just next door

The ground holds lots of memories for me, and when talking about favourite away games, this one always comes up, but its more to do with the circumstances than the ground itself.
