Couldn't find a thread and searched for FIFA so assuming there isn't one already. Was going to put it in General football as it affects all levels of the game sbut i appear to not be able to post there

anyway:
The four Presidential candidates for President of FIFA have all passed integrity checks apparently

Wiat...What?!?!?! Blatter passed an integrity check? What did it entail then?
Questioner: Now then Mr Blatter have you done anything dodgy ever?
Blatter: No. Questioner: Good enough for us NEXT!!

In all seriousness if he didn't actually take cash and bribes himself he certainly turned a blind eye to the process which makes him complicit (along with a lot of other people who need kicking out of FIFA.

van Pragg and Figo are too euro-centric to win, you need a global vision. Blatter is corrupt yes but he has great support with the smaller nations and does do a lot for them. Without that vision you might as well not turn up. That only leaves Prince Ali bin Al Hussein but he seems to lack support in his own confederation so it's had to see him making up the votes in the others.

In a way I wish they were not having this, Blatter will win by a landslide and then use it as a way to claim he's some great bastion of the sport.

I think the big problem is the main footballing powers...England, Germany, France, Spain view Blatter in a much different light than the smaller powers but there is just so many smaller powers

I wonder if we'll ever have a situation where the leading countries in the World decide enough is enough and leave FIFA. I doubt UEFA would be far behind to be honest - the relationship between Blatter and Platini seems frosty at best.
