List has been revealed of who managers voted for as their top 10 League Two players, and although we already know the top 3 from the award night, the top 10 is a bit odd with some choices I feel.

1. Danny Mayor (Bury)
2. Ryan Woods (Shrewsbury)
3. Alfie Mawson (Wycombe)
4. Jed Wallace (Pompey)
5. Matt Tubbs (Pompey)
6. Stuart Beavon (Burton)
7. James Collins (Shrewsbury)
8. John Mousinho (Burton)
9. Bobby Grant (Shrewsbury)
10. Reuben Reid (Plymouth)

I might be being a bit bias, but I really do not see how Stuart Beavon and to a lesser extent Bobby Grant have made that top 10. Being a forward isn't always about goals, but from what I've seen or heard they haven't been exceptional this season. Southend's Dan Bentley not included, our Jamie Cureton was only 23rd as well which surprised me a bit as well.

I didn't see either of our games vs Burton this season, but Stuart Beavon was class for us, 20-odd goals in a shit relegation-bound side in L1, and he had to create most of them himself as he got sod all service. Very clever player.

Reuben Reid played well against us, he's really bulked out since he was on loan with us though.

Grant is an attacking midfielder not a striker nowadays. He shouldn't be in this top 10, nor should Collins. They've both had very good seasons, but both have lacked consistency.

Lutweiller, Goldson and Lawrence would be far better options imo. Lutweiller has broken the all time club record for clean sheets this season and been a huge part of why we have conceded so few goals (lowest in the league)

Have to say I am suprised Richards did not make the top 10. Apparently he came in at 14th. Second top goalscorer this season even though he missed 2 months, think his record is 18 goals from 29 appearences. Surely deserving of a place.

Suppose it shows why some managers are in this league if that's who they're voting for ;)

Appalled we don't even have a legitimate claim for not having someone in there...........

Reuben Reid and Matt Tubbs are both truely awful shouts to be in the top 10 of at least 300 players in this league.

I think Doyle could potentially be argued, he is definitely the only one though and I'm not sure he is a top 10 player, although I must admit some of the above didn't impress me at all when we have come up against them, admittedly only seen
most of them once

Pelly Ruddock if he remained injury free, which he clearly has not. Must be a record layoff for hamstring injury.

I'm sure Guttridge would've been in had he stayed injury free.
Guttridge is regressing as a player at an alarming rate - and has frankly looked disinterested in recent weeks. I think last season could be his last - he's pretty much being held together with sticky tape as it is.

Ah think you've cracked it. That's what Still meant when he said he was a "week away" for about 3 months

Maybe loanees don't count but Oshilaja will go on to a much higher level. Best centre half at this level imo.

Can't believe Richards isn't in there but hey ho. Think a lot of other players would feel aggrieved too, Looks like the managers don't really know about League 2 either!!

Incidentally, Marc Richards is the 13th best player in the Football League according to Four Four Two.
Andy Drury was picked as Luton's best player....

No brainer. The top 18 should be as follows:

Bury
  • 21 Pope
  • 23 Riley (Eaves - 79' )
  • 05 El-Abd Booked
  • 27 Cameron
  • 11 Hussey
  • 06 Etuhu Booked (Jones - 77' )
  • 04 Tutte
  • 10 Mayor
  • 19 Soares Booked
  • 17 Nardiello (Rose - 65' )
  • 15 Lowe
Substitutes
  • 02 Jones
  • 08 Adams
  • 09 Rose
  • 12 Sedgwick
  • 16 O'Brien
  • 18 Eaves
  • 26 Lainton

If Cian Bolger had played all season like he has in the past 6 games he would be a top 10 cert. Finally showing why we actually paid a club a fee for him

I don't believe Mayor is the best player in the league tbh.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Jamie Cureton should be L2 player of season really.

39 and on 17 goals for a side which struggles down bottom area of table and probably won't create masses of chances each game......that is a tremendous feat.
