Pretty self-explanatory, but check out this thread for house rules or if you are unsure of what to do - http://www.onefootballforum.co.uk/index.php?threads/1ff-l1-team-of-the-year.5350/

Remember, you CANNOT nominate a player from the team you support and are only allowed to nominate one GK. Feel free to discuss and debate and please do provide some explanation as to why you've pick your particularly nominee.

The deadline for the GK position is 5pm on Sunday. Happy nominating.

David Martin - He may not be the best goalkeeper in the division but his record this season deserves a place in the team of the year. I've just looked it up and he has the best Clean Sheet ratio in the division.

Best goalkeeper I've seen based on seeing both legs, only reason we put four past him in the home leg was because the four in front of him were shite and failed to mark us properly. Fodringham by comparison was nothing special beyond 20 minutes at the end of the home leg when he was the only thing stopping Swindon from conceding 4 or more goals.

Forgot to say, please put your final nominees in bold.

My vote goes to David Martin. In terms of ability, he falls short of the likes of Foderingham, Johnstone, Fielding and Lee, but his clean sheet record is exceptional and is one of few goalkeepers to impress at the County Ground.

Wes Foderingham - A very strong shotstopper who is also very good on the ball. I like how it plays it out the back and I think he has a lot of potential.

I assume you mean Roy Carroll?

It has to be Wes Foderingham from the 15 or so games that I have seen this season. He could not have done anything with the goals we scored and he kept the score at 0-3 in the end.

Even though Tommy Forecast is the correct answer, I'm voting for Frank Fielding

David Martin. Was man of the match when we played away at MK, and has had the most clean sheets this season

Edit: Hasn't had the most clean sheets but my vote still stands

Richard O'Donnell - Considering where Walsall are in the table, their clean sheet numbers are very impressive, and only Bristol City, Preston and MK Dons have conceded less than them.

Presuming noone fancies nominating Adam Legzdins or Gary Woods? :jones:

Going for the best GK display I saw this season

Sam Johnstone - When we played Preston, on another day we'd have scored a good 4/5, but Johnstone kept it to 1 and which in itself he didn't have a chance with, some top class saves that day as well.

They've dipped this half of the season which I'm not sure why, but before Christmas Walsall were one of the best defensive sides in the league. Couldn't really see an individual performance that stood out though in either leg, so it must just been decent organisation rather than individual players being outstanding.

We're well trained and disciplined at the back, coaching staff has been excellent at whipping the defence into shape. But O'Donnell has been far and away the best performing member of the back 5, if it wasn't for him we'd be relegated. O'D has 21 clean sheets in a team that is stuck in mid table that flirts with relegation, very impressive. Only team below Rochdale to not have a negative goal difference thanks to him.

The best goalkeeping performance I've seen against us would probably be David Martin (minus his mistake which gave us a goal in the away leg :D).

No keepers have stood out to me, probably because we rarely test keepers. Our Ben Garratt has been superb and should win our POTS.

I'll go Wes Foderingham because out of all the contenders he kept two clean sheets vs us.

Frank Fielding for his performance v us at Ashton Gate. His save to deny Gladwin in particular was sensational. The stupid midget.

From performances against us, and tbh we haven't tested many this season, I'll go for Roy Carroll made some top class saves in both games.

Purely because I can't vote Dave Martin who has been outstanding, I'm going to have to go for the keeper that impressed me most in the 2 games we've played against him, Scunthorpes Luke Daniels.
He made some outstanding saves in both matches he's played against MK

Been some very impressive displays against us this season, Johnstone and Martin to name just two, but..

My choice will be Wes Foderingham.

Very athletic keeper, great distribution, commanding of his area, and a good shot stopper.

But my vote is for Sam Johnstone of Preston North End. Class against us up at Deepdale.
