Hopefully the likes of Manny Smith will sign his contract now

Good appointment for Wrexham, hopefully for them its the York Mills and not the second season Gateshead one. Either way he should do a better job than Wilkin

Could very well be early dark horses for promotion.

Easy, don't go tagging us with that shit. Playoff challenge will be expected as a minimum though, as it is with every manager we hire. I think Mills could do great things with us, exciting times ahead I hope.

Good appointment for Wrexham, interesting he chose them over Tranmere.

So many of our fans thought he was about to sign for us too.

Don't know too much about him, but from what I have read he seemed like he'd be a good appointment. Can't see us sorting one out for a while now.

Mills mentioned it was between him and another manager for your job, so don't be so sure

A good conference overall, really glad we got our man! Think our retained list will be a bit late this season

I quite like the threads on Red Passion.

The ones when he was going to join and what a brilliant manager he was, then the ones when it looked he was going to Tranmere and that he'd be no great loss and wasn't really that good and now the latest ones now that he's signed, hailing him as the new Messiah. :bg:

No doubt every clubs messageboard would be exactly the same but it just goes to show how fickle many football fans are.

Sounds like he'll be going back to Gateshead for a few players. Contract is 1 year rolling deal, same as he was on there.

Hopefully Jamie Chandler, he's been class every time I've seen him. Although I gather he hasn't played much lately.

What will he be able to do at Wrectum that he hasn't done at Gateshead? Similar budgets I'd've thought.

Be surprised if many follow as a number had fallen out with him, as the cliche goes he'd lost the dressing room. Last season we rolled on team spirit, he took a sledgehammer to it in the summer and replaced with poor players.

I'd suspect Rodman, Rankine, Jones, St. Luce, Wilson & Gjokaj are likely to be the only ones you could pinch and out of them the only one I'd be sad to go is Gjokaj.

I hope Rankine does join Mills as I don't like seeing our name linked to him. If he joined us our hoofball would reach a singularity and the ball would go into permanent orbit.

He said that it was hard to persuade players to move that far up north to Gateshead, hopefully Wrexham being more central will help. He also has dipped into the wpl for players in the past so we are well placed for that too

Talking about the wpl, Harrison must be nailed on to take the heed job now?

As we know, his arms have been stuck like that since 2012. We've taken the opportunity to wedge a scarf inbetween his hands.

Seems like a bit of a cop out saying he didn't want to come here because we had someone else we were considering. Surely all managers expect some competition for jobs considering the amount of out of work former or prospective managers there are out there.

He didn't say that was the reason why he didn't join. Just that he knew there was another manager involved in the interview process

That was my best guess. Should do a bit better on that regard. Can't help but wonder where this'll leave big budget Gateshead. Would be nice to not draw with them again as our five fixtures against then as FCHT have been. And win instead of course. Rather than lose.

Just got that from Facebook so most likely been lost in translation. Interesting to see who this other guy is then, hopefully we get it sorted soon so that we start looking to rebuild.

Very good appointment at conference level. Ok he has been found out a couple of times at league level but I still miss the football he had us playing, just a pleasure to watch. Ok he has had a bit of stick in the past for his attitude including a few Wrexham fans I think but I'm pretty confident he will take them back up given a couple of seasons, he knows what's needed down here.

Gary brabin and askey seem to be two names being mentioned a fair bit. Don't know much about either of them.

I thought Brabin's current job in Everton's youth academy was his dream job?

It was, but only so he could get a little closer to Birkenhead ready for a real managers job.
