Here we go...

Nine months and it all comes down to the last ninety minutes.

What it's all about, eh?

Hopefully we can get an early goal and put the pressure on Preston, but I'm sure we won't panic f it doesn't come. A nice irony for Robbo that he's getting this chance after all the grief he got down at Yeovil the season they went up. Hopefully their "relegation confirmed, now let's play a bit" bounce is all over and we run out comfortable winners.

Then all eyes and ears can turn to The Weston Homes Community...

All we can do is pray.

Been waiting for you to post the thread, it's worked recently so I will stick to my usual routine and predict a draw for us, with Yeovil playing relaxed football and being tough to break down.

O and Colchester will Nick a point

Something crazy like 12-0 I expect..

And then Preston to scrape a 0-1 with a 90th minute goal, with Daniel Johnson, the bloke who 'turned down MK' to score it.

Only saving grace on that scenario is, that for the first time ever, I'm actually really confident about the play offs- nothing to fear imho.

I still believe it's going to be the opposite, Preston get an injury time penalty with the score at 0-1. Garner spends too long thinking about how to do something elaborate for the following day's headlines and what celebration to finish the season with only to lose focus and hit the crossbar and rebound so that Colchester can break down the other end and equalise with the last kick of the game keeping them up. Meanwhile we beat Yeovil 8-0 and set a new high score, but virtually no-one stays to the end thinking promotion is gone and are halfway to their cars by the time any news of Colchester's equaliser filters back, pitch invasion at SMK is a pitiful 7 fans and a random dog from outside the ground.

Preston however get over the intial dissapointment and go on to have an outstanding run in the playoffs winning yet another playoff final for Grayson and Garner becomes the first ever player to score a double-hattrick at Wembley with an 11-0 win over Swindon. Everyone ends the season happy at the top three, Mark Cooper finishes the season crying into a half-empty glass of whiskey.

He turned us down? Pretty sure we couldn't stretch the budget to afford him, either that or we chose Carruthers instead. Plus Afobe came in around the same time as DJ had his trial.

Top player, but I think we made the right choice and we have Samir on a 3 year deal.

Remarkable really that Johnson was part of THAT Oldham team.

Anyway, we will draw, Preston will win, Raging will come on and goad but it's still been a belting season! Plus we've just made over a 100k on bar takings from a load of egg chasers. It's been a lot of fun.

I think we asked Villa the question (about Johnson) after that trial game against Leicester, but once they and he realised it was only ever going to be a back up role then they offered him to Chesterfield. They wanted him starting and we couldn't offer that. Win some, lose some...

As for the rugby bar takings, I heard a figure once for a previous s:MK game that the consumption worked out at eight pints for every man woman and child in the ground! I'd be surprised if £100K is all we took in a crowd of 27,000,

Given that there's been two tankers parked outside when I went to Sarries v Saints a couple of years ago, and everyone's drinking for a good solid four or five hours, I'd say it's not that far-fetched.

I read somewhere that he said in an interview he turned you down - would have to search it although.

I don't doubt that he (or Villa) turned the move down, but it was because he knew he wouldn't be starting games regularly. Hence, he went on loan to Chesterfield and then Oldham. I'm still surprised Villa let him go, along with Carruthers. I guess Grealish is a good indication of how good you have to be to even get a sniff of making it in the Prem?

That's even better when you consider that Yeovil probably won't bring many, possibly 300 max
I'm silently confident, just praying that Colchester can get something

I think we'll be lucky to take that many to be honest, even though the signs from Sturrock are good so far, this season couldn't finish quick enough for most of us.

As for the game even though I think Sturrock will put a few fringe players out (we've got a cup final next Thursday after all!) I think it will be tight. We've suddenly learned how to defend again and if we can get through the first 20 mins, where I'm sure MK will come out all guns blazing, I fancy us to sneak a draw.

Will we beat Preston's 17,000?

No. Not a chance it would seem.

Official Twitter saying "close to 11,000 sold already". I'd hope to get to 13 or 14K, but doubt it would go much higher.

It mystifies me as our online ticketing shows very limited availability in many areas on the "pick your seat" option, and people have even been told 14K sold by box office staff. :dk:

Maybe they ment that 14K is the expected final sales figure instead of how many have been sold already?

Shame.

In fairness that 17k at Preston was a damn fine effort considering they were playing an U16 side... :gr:

I counted yesterday and there was only 2218 seats left in the home end, although that only included club red in the west stand and nothing in the north which we are apparently opening to home fans.
I'd expect around about a 15-16k attendance by those figures

It's all a bit odd with the "nearly 11K sold". As you say, go online and you'll see how few seats remain available in the home ends. It's front five rows only in many blocks, and sold out in several others. Only conclusion is that the online ticketing seat chooser doesn't work properly :ffs:

Over 14,000 sold now! About 2,000-3,000 tickets sold within the last 2 days with a further day and walk ups to add to that we could be lookimg at close to 16,000 just home fans! Not bad for a franchise with no support!

Certainly not, especially when you consider that a club with a hundred and twenty five years of history got less than 17,000 home fans for their potential promotion party last weekend. :2thumb:

Of course, they're all freebies, aren't they? :ffs:

My mate just got ours in the "away" end. Should be 17,000ish on the day I reckon.

We are heading to the game after the boxing, going to be a mess come 12.15pm. Will probably end up in Pinks if we go up too.

I'm interested to see what's happening with the corner near club red that's normally empty, if we are selling behind the goal near away fans surely it will look ridiculous if we've not sold anything in that section to link up the home fans?
