This doesn't bode well if true.

Any chance Hearn would take you back?

This is not good for the O's but who is actually going to buy the club with players on the silly wages though?

Would Hearn take the club back at a knock down price?
Edit, just seen Murphy ask the same thing.

These are the sort of things the Football League need to do something about, it's not right that a club can go from where Orient were to where they are now in 12 months essentially at the will of some batshit foreign owner who people have known was batshit pretty much from the start.

Feel sorry for the fans in all this, what odds that the next owners are just as crazy.

Really feel for Orient. Like others have said though, no sane person would take on some of those wages in league 1 let alone 2... Reckon you might be stuck with the owners for a while yet!

Yeah they could be in trouble if they end up saddled with an owner who's done investing money in the club and a huge wage bill.

Let's wait and see for official confirmation from the club. La Gazzetta dello Sport ran with an article yesterday commenting on Orient's season and that relegation may see Becchetti looking to leave. Apparently Alessandro Moggi (son of Luciano Moggi of Calciopoli fame) has been advising Becchetti on footballing affairs, so there's certainly a few questions to be raised. I would imagine the Evening Standard is basing a lot of this off of that article and speculation we've had on the Orient forum, e.g. about relegation wage cut. It's also the Evening Standard which is such an awful paper...

The fans trust has e-mailed our CEO Alessandro Angelieri so the response (if there is one) ought to be interesting.

Edit: The original article. In Italian but Google translate does a decent enough job.

Re Hearn, I have total plerophory he won't. Due to selling parts off the ground off for flats, it is likely he came out of his chairmanship at roughly break even financially, he also owns the stadium. Given McAnuff, Simpson and Henderson combined will be on roughly the same wage bill we'd have had for our squad for the entirety of 2013/2014, there's no chance he's going to go and put himself in debt taking on those wages.

The players in question are:
Darius Henderson - £10k per week - 2 years left
Jobi McAnuff - £7k per week - 1 year left
Dean Cox - £5k per week - 2 years left
Jay Simpson - £5k per week - 2 years left
Shane Lowry - £4k per week - 2 years left

Andrea Dossena was on apparently £14-20k per week, but he thankfully is going to be gone.

Cox, Simpson & Lowry can all be sold, but we're stuck with Henderson who is 34 in September. He spent 4 months last season injured as well.

We're proper fucked now, this will no doubt drag on for months. We have 14 players out of contract who will now all go, we will probably be stuck with the 14 players we have left plus all the youth team for next season with no pre season planned at all, we will still be run by our idiot CEO who had never attended a football match until 10 months ago and we will probably have no conformation on who will be the first team manager probably until August.

People wonder why I am so pessimistic, but at Leyton Orient it never rains it just pours all year round - Which it has done for about 40 years.

There is no chance of him replying, he will do what most people do when they're at work and don't want to do anything about the situation - Just delete the email and ignore it, he is an incompetent moron.

Our supporters are panicking and doing their best to get some answers, but this is going to drag on and on and in 12 months we will be in Non League Football still repairing all the mess, if we're still in business.

The noises coming from the press and around the football club is that he wants out and is trying to get rid of us quickly.

Let this be a warning with regards to foreign owners.

If we're lucky this will be sorted by the end of the month in the meantime, we're going to be miserable.

Those wages are a disgrace, I don't think our top earner earns much more than £10,000 a week. You'll have to hope someone will take those players off your books, I expect Lowry, Cox, Simpson and McAnuff all to find new clubs at League One level but will they take a wage cut or sit out their contracts at Orient? No one will sign Henderson, he's a 33 year old crock who is clearly still demanding a silly wage.

Looks like we're going to be relying on youth teamers to go with our 13 contracted players.

When under an embargo you can only have 18 players and can't pay transfer fees.

Looks like Non League is finally going to happen here, it was always going too, but the Italians have sped the process up with their awful management.

Becchetti originally wanted to appoint a former vollyball coach as manager! The quote attributed to him pretty much says if someone thinks they can do better, feel free.

It would appear that, in fact, anybody could do better. No, seriously. Anybody.

Seems just a blink since you were at Wembley, knocking on the Championship door. Now you seem like a poor version of Pompey, with a fraction of the fanbase.

Anyway, good luck to you all. It's not fun when the shit hits the fans.

Although in fairness the vollyball coach had also been CEO of Roma and Juventus, something the article handedly didn't mention.

Hated the Henderson signing and expressed my worries at handing out such a ludicrous contract.

99% of our fanbase - 'Don't worry, we're rich, we can afford it. You won't be moaning when he scores 20 goals to take us up.'

Proof that most football fans are idiots.

Using conservative estimates of the 12 first team players under contract for next season, I still have our wage budget (players) at around 2.3 million. Kevin Nugent is apparently on the same wage as Slade was and who knows what Liverani is earning.

In short, we're daffy ducked.
