October saw us have a poor start with two defeat and finish with a run of 4 unbeaten to move well clear of relegation spots. Can't see November being anywhere near as good tbh

Blackpool (H FA Cup) L
Luton(A) L
Morecambe (H) D
Notts C(A) L
Mansfield (H) D

2 points from a possible 12 and an exit from the cup. Wonderful.

Tough month, and I don't think we're going to manage one win in the league. Not too sure about the Fa Cup too, if I'm being honest, but I'm hoping we get a 1-0 win and scrape through to the next round. I'm certainly not this pessimistic generally, but I'm trying to be realistic and I think we're in for a bad month points wise.

Basingstoke -FA Cup- (H) 1-0 WIN
Oxford (A) 0-2 LOSS
Accrington (H) 1-2 LOSS
Morecambe (A) 1-2 LOSS
Notts County (H) 1-1 DRAW :woo:

We always struggle against the more physical sides like Morecambe and Stanley, but I'm hoping that perhaps they have a poor match against us and we can snatch a point or two. If they play like they usually do then they'll both beat us.

If my predictions are correct, and I REALLY hope I'm not, then Money should act like a man and walk away. We can replace him with a 20 year kid for all I care. A look at the table as it stands now show us only above sides that were widely predicted to struggle this year, and that, imo, says it all.

Tough month for us, and I feel like I'm being optimistic in saying we'll have to wait some for our next win.

Think we will field our Youth/Development teams for the cup matches.
Think our first team can get 10 pts out of 12 to keep us chasing plymouth.

To be fair we'll probably go and beat Portsmouth or Luton and then lose 1-0 to Crawley. Wouldn't be Carlisle otherwise.

Tough month this, will be interesting to see if our recent uplift in form is temporary or something a bit more long-lasting...
I echo that, just I'm a touch more pessimistic than you in terms of results.
FGR H - draw
FGR A - win
Pompy A - loss
Wycombe H - draw
D&R H - draw
Orient A - win

This is potentially our hardest month of the season, and even with the daggers down the bottom, they're always a challenge for us to beat. We could quite easily go the whole month without a win, just I hope we can continue this winning run. If we do we will surely be up in the playoffs by the end of the month.

Fancy a good cup run this year, long overdue. Toughish month in the league but thought that in October and we did ok. Hopefully will continue to creep away from the bottom 2 especially if we beat Yeovil in the 6 pointer.

Certainly not the easiest month for us, but I'm slightly more optimistic.

Bristol Rovers (A) - Draw
Portsmouth (H) - Win
Luton (A) - Loss
Crawley (H) - Win
7pts out of 12, though more likely to be 6pts, and out of the cup.

Tough tough month.

If we're still in and around the playoffs then maybe we can start to class ourselves as serious contenders for those 4 playoff spots.

We've picked up 10 points in each of the last 2 months. In all honesty I can't see us doing the same this month.

Plymouth FA Cup (A). LOSE
Bristol Rovers (A). LOSE
Portsmouth (H). LOSE
Luton (A). WIN
Crawley (H). WIN

6 points from 4 games wouldn't be disastrous. Anything more would be a massive boost. Cant see our defence being able to cope at Plymouth in the cup unfortunately.

Cheltenham somehow managed to be shitter than both of us last season and now find themselves in that shit tip vanarama league below us. The fact they are doing well in that league isn't something for any team in this league to fear.

I watched their match against Grimsby on BT. There is a huge gulf between the 2 divisions now, there maybe wasn't a few years ago but there is now. I won't be taking the 2/1 odds.

Can't say I agree. The bottom four teams in league two would be mid table in the conference based on what I saw when we've played them. Only the top half of league two are noticeably better than the best in the conference in my opinion. The likes of Dover last season showed how close it is and we were certainly not embarrassed by Wycombe.

November?
Horrible month. All dampness, rotting leaves, being told to use the rest of your work holidays or lose them, dipping your finger in the cars water tank and licking it to test it for antifreeze, wiping the first of 5 months worth of snot from your beak, listening to bloody fireworks for 30 nights, shit tv getting even shitter because the bastards know that you aren't going to bugger off in to the garden with a fag and a jar of warm cider, and the tears from your mundane life sting that little bit more in the cold air.

No points and out of the cup, as the norm......probably.

Hoping for an improved month after 2 wins 2 draws 2 defeats in October.

Crawley (a) FA Cup - D 1-1
Barnet (h) - W 2-0
Stevenage (a) - W 2-1
Carlisle (h) - D 2-2
Newport (a) - W 3-1

Knowing us though, could easily be 3 defeats and a draw. Consistently inconsistent. Yay.

Cheltenham bought an almost entirely new squad didn't they? I am sure that a team sat top(ish?) of the Conference will be in much better form, and certainly much more confident of getting the win than a team almost certainly nailed on for relegation.

I will happily make my own humble pie, covered in sprinkles of my hat, and eat said pie (with hat dressing) should this happen.

Don't think you're nailed on for relegation. Don't think you'll get relegated at all. Admittedly after a positive summer and bright start you now look destined for a pretty unspectacular season but the levels of overall shitness amongst the teams below you should surely keep you safe, combined with the positive impact your two galacticos up front will have once they hit form.

Having said that, I can see Cheltenham beating you. Can see you going and beating Orient following that though.

Although we can never know for sure now, I feel fairly certain that, had we drawn a team in Cheltenham's position at this time last season (let's say, Bristol Rovers), you wouldn't be forecasting a Carlisle win.

It's November , and due to injuries and suspensions , Ronnie has not yet had chance to play all his signings ...a draw would be ok on Sat , after that he has everyone available except Worley

Based on Joe Dunne being manager for the whole month. If we make a good managerial appointment I'll change one of those 3 draws to a win.

Maybe not forecasting, but I'd be expecting to win. I remember how utterly shite the conference was when we were there for that season. We finished 2nd (or whatever it was) despite playing absolutely shite for about 90% of that season.

I will be very (happily) surprised if we do not get relegated with the current set up. We have an utterly clueless manager on a 3 year contract, a group of semi talented individuals scattered amongst some lower conference standard players with a select few Sunday league players, and owners with not a pot to piss in to buy anything better. We have just had a lad on trial who was being billed as the savior of our shambolic defending, who has just signed for Port-fucking-Talbot. This is the sort of level of player we are looking at.

I don't think our season will be as embarrassing as last year, though. We do have a couple of players who are more than able to hold their own in this division, and will no doubt win us the odd game, but in the long run, it won't be enough. Crawley have just managed to turn us over, and all they had to do was turn up.

Providing our central midfield contains either of B Walker or N Featherstone or our defence contains S Harrison or M Okounghae, it effectively gives the opponents a 2 goal head start. Even for players of Paynter and Bingham's ability, scoring 3 goals every game ain't easy y'know.

Magnay will be back for Orient, and Ronnie will plug him as 'like a new signing' and he will smooth over the cracks in midfield for a couple of weeks, and we will pick up a win away to Barnet or something, and everything will start to look hunky-dory, and he will tell us he is trying sooooo so hard to bring in new faces in January, alas we will get a reject from Oldham, who turns out to be shite (shock), and we will get the old 'no one wants to move up north and freeze to death on the sea coast' excuse from Moore. We will be steadily in 17th place at this point, go on a run of 1 win in 10 games in Feb/March, and drop into the relegation zones.

We have absolutely no chance (Bingham the exception) of winning on Saturday.

Excluding our keeper, the side that have started a lot of our matches this season - including our last 2 home games - is pretty much the same that finished 2nd in the Conference.

Leadbitter-----------Lockyer------McChrystal---------Brown

Gosling--------------Mansell--------Sinclair-------------Bodin (New Signing)

------------------------Taylor-----------Harrison-----------------

Even most of our subs were with us last season, Mildehall, Parkes, Lines (Was on loan), Ollie Clarke, Easter.

The only other signings we've made are James Clarke (CB from Woking) and Montana who has hardly appeared even as a sub.
