Vale are looking to end a run of 4 defeats against Colchester and aim to continue an impressive recent record of wins on Good Fridays!

The game is arguably Vale's biggest in two years since securing promotion against Northampton and is a must win game to avoid getting seriously dragged deep into the relegation battle, a victory would take Vale to the verge of safety but with some very tough fixtures to come we really can't afford to not win this.

Defeat for Colchester would leave them needing a minor miracle to survive.

Moore and Junior are missing with injuries, whilst Neal is banned after Vale surprisingly didn't appeal the decision to send him off!

Michael Brown returns after his one match suspension.

Prediction, an ugly and nervy game with the Valiants edging it 2-1 (Hopefully)

Desperately need to win this, hadn't realised that Vale had now lost four on the bounce though so that gives me a bit more hope... or does it reduce the hope as they will surely win sooner or later?

We were unlucky v Swindon having battered them for 60 minutes, diabolical vs Colchester, poor against Sheffield United but could of got a point and cruising to three points at Orient before our keeper gets sent off and concedes a penalty and we collapsed so a mixed bag in the games.

We are long due a decent performance and we have to treat it as a cup final because if not were in deep shite.

3 points and we are safe. Might even win the Mid-Table Trophy too.

Defence he's picked looks better with Veseli at CB not sure about ditching Pope for Willo with no second striker though? Crucial game, win this we go to Dale knowing a win (possibly a point) would mean safety assured. As I've said if we can't get five points in 11 games to be safe then we simply deserve to go down.

That's us going down, Page has lost the plot and lets be honest Colchester were dreadful and if we can't get a result today we won't against anyone else.

Crap manager, I've said it all along. Even when we were getting ok results we were playing shit and scraping through games. I won't be going next season if he's in charge, I'm sure many people will feel the same. What kind of 'manager' would start Ben Williamson upfront on his own at home?!

Dire, dire, dire. Deffo going down. Playing 1 up front & Williamson at that who couldn't score if he was the only player on the pitch. Page ain't good enough and needs going, tactics are poor.

1 up front against a side as poor as Colchester at home is unforgivable, yet it is not the first time, 1 up top at home to Crawley and Crewe and lost them too. How bad Colchester were especially first half two up front would have won us that game comfortably. Pointless sacking Page now though as all would happen is Glover and Grew unless Rudge came out of retirement for it but imagine he's too old for it now.

We're going down, today was an advert for what will certainly be a League Two fixture next year.

I think Vale fans are being a little pessimistic here, today is a truely awful result but still plenty of truely awful teams between the bottom 4 and you, including us.

Ya but even the teams in the bottom are picking up points unlike us. In our last 6 games we have Rochdale, MK, Preston and Fleetwood and we won't win those.

Not really, we've no confidence and lost five in a row... Three of them against teams occupying the bottom 4. If we lose to Dale we face MK so that would leave us needing 2 wins from 4 one of which is PNE

You play Scunthorpe and Yeovil away plus Yeovil should be gone by then, and I doubt Fleetwood will have anything to play for. I can see you getting the 4 points you need from them. Your certainly in the dog fight now but on my book "should" have enough.

Even though I assume you meant Crawley you were actually correct in what you said 24hrs in advance of today's debacle.

Page, Grew and Glover have to go now, leave Brown and Ede in charge for the remaining games, they can't do any worse.

We were poor first half and couldn't have argued about going in at the break behind. Vale squandered a few decent chances and we just never got going.

After the break though I thought we were much better. We actually had a bit of a tempo about us and attacked with some urgency, and once we got the first goal we started to look ok, passing it well. Massey could have had a hat-trick just from identical chances cutting in from the left only to balloon them all miles over. When the second went in I thought that lead was well-deserved for the second half showing but, as a Vale fan, I'd be disappointed for not being in front by the break.

Potentially a massive win though if we can follow it up with another result on Monday, which could make Coventry next weekend a huge game.
