Are Bury fans split on the old club v new?

Which one will most back? If Dale goes and the old club survives, surely that renders the phoenix pointless? Or will they crack on?

What if the old club survives under Dale? Would people still go watch the phoenix instead?

Sounds like it is messy to the least. Apologies if a daft question..
Hopefully the fans can remain united, the risk with people like Dale is that even after they've gone, the bad feeling they left remains. When Scarborough went to the wall their fans were divided on what the best course of action was and ended up with two competing phoenix clubs, although one has since folded; a similar thing happened to Northwich Victoria.

These things can turn fans against one another. I hope Blackpool fans have been able to mend their divisions but during Oyston's ownership there was a lot of bitterness with some going so far as to suggest that if the club were to come under fan ownership they could look at the ticket records for names of anyone who purchased tickets during Oyston's ownership and start handing out lifetime bans.

Have Bury FC not filed for bankruptcy? I had been led to believe it had and therefore won’t exist to play in any league, the only possibility would be a Phoenix club wouldn’t it?

I don't believe it has. Dale I think is still trying to sell, but unsurprisingly nobody's buying.

Not the case. He actually turned down a bid last month.

Is there any further detail on this? One of the bids made shortly after you guys were kicked out of the EFL was from the owner of a struggling step 6 club. I would imagine some of the bids are pretty farcical.

It was a bid from a consortium of local businessmen.

Why do I get the feeling that Dale is such a vindictive person and after all the abuse he's got from your fans (and I don't blame the fans for giving him stick at all) this is his way of retaliating? Owning an asset that has been stripped to the bare bones and putting it on life support so the people of Bury don't get their ground or their football club back. I mean I'm sure many others could see him wanting to do that...

Of course, I could be wide of the mark. But this is the way I genuinely see it. And I hope a solution is found sooner rather than later for the people of Bury. But I can't see him letting go unless silly money was offered.

Bury FC Heritage (a company set up by Steve Dale to transfer some of the clubs assets into) has had its striking off order reversed.

I can feel your pain on as we were in a similar situation except Vaughan was laundering I’ll gotten gains from a Liverpool drug Barron through the club, he like your owner would not let go so we had to boycott games to strangle our own club which meant his dirty money went down the drain In stead if back to him. We are coming to terms with the fact we may never get back into the league as a fan owned club due to the number of big sides coming down and the number of sugar daddy teams in this league.

The administrators at CBF in the administration report, have suggested that they are in negotiations with BFC or a source acting for BFC to settle the debt on the ground.

Are Chester considering outside investment then?

Interesting one. Looks like we may become the first club to be owned by a Charity (the Chesterfield Community Trust) so will largely be fan ran via the charity with the backing of 3/4 local councils.

Obviously in the short term that gets the club back in good hands, fans can break the boycott and bring some good feeling back but obviously long term we will need money and investment after maybe a couple of years - and I assume that has to be the plan. There was another fans led consortium of local business men who the club wouldn't sell too so my guess is they will come on board further down the line

Are Wrexham not already run by a charity - I mean is their Trust not one? There defence certainly was last season for most teams (apart from us)

No that takeover which is what it always was ,but was dressed up last season as just a “millionaire fan who wanted to put something back into Chester“. we dodged a bullet with that as it appears he was just using the financial situation at the moment to get the council to sell him the land that the football club stands on to redevelop into a leisure hub.

Not sure on Wrexham but our model has been compared to ones at Pompey, Wycombe and Exeter but rather than fans in full control it will be fronted by the Trust and it's board.

So exactly the same as our model a decade ago. Odd how we weren't included in the comparisons...

Not really considering it was a decade ago.

I struggle to remember what i've had for tea last night let alone the ownership model of Stockport County from 10 years ago.
