It certainly was odd that they rejected that amendment, which wasn't exactly controversial.

They would be daft not to adopt something similar soon.

Because this way, the fate of Fylde and Ebbsfleet rests in the government's hands, not the League's. Shrewd move to head off any impending legal action.

Why are york just expecting to be promoted I dont get it. Reading Twitter they we're expecting to be promoted for being in the top 2. Well I'm sorry that isnt how it works. You cant just promote harrogate because they're second. You either have the playoffs and 2 go up or you dont have the play offs and 1 go up. How can anyone think anything other than that
I'm not a York fan but my thought process is/was that if they're not allowed play-offs at North/South level then yes they should be promoted in 2nd. It's more fair then not being allowed up at all when over 3/4 of a season has been played. I do see people's point on Havant and Waterlooville aswell and wouldn't be against them getting the same treatment and therefore relegating NL 22nd place as well as 23rd and 24th.

If we get can get play-offs on at that level, then crack on with that.

Could you imagine if Gateshead had not demoted and you got relegated, what would you think if Aldershot were in south this season and you made play offs?

Just being pragmatic. Any full time players at whatever level will have been furloughed, If they are now to be involved in playoffs, they will need to go back to training I.e. “work”, and wages etc. will have to be paid by their employers,I.e the clubs. My point is, there is very little income, and, I assume, at regional level, no income at all.
If Aldershot had been demoted, I would have hoped to have gone part-time, and not retained the full-time economic stupidity .

You can - it's literally in the rules.

Also, what were all the votes for earlier in the season? I might be remembering this incorrectly, but I can't recall too much of an appetite for PO's in the NLN and NLS earlier this season, presumably because clubs were wanting a null and void?

Found it now. A bit hypocritical of the NLN Clubs to now suddenly kick up a stink and want PO's when only a few weeks ago they didn't.

In our league, if play-offs can't happen then runner-up gets promoted. I'm sure York have got nothing against teams in their league being relegated - that's been determined by the FA.

We're 5/5. Have reached the final three times... lost them all. Reaching the final is no consolation.

It is when you’ve never seen your club play at Wembley in over 30 years supporting the club :(

Suggestion here that the play-offs will only happen if at least 4 of the clubs are willing to play which make sense I guess as it would be a bit of a farce with less.

Will there be 4 clubs up for it in the North and South?

As I said earlier, the FA should share more of the blame. They've always had easy access to the government, for them to deliver erroneous guidance to the NL was really poor.

I suspected this would be the case even on Thursday though because the government guidance is far too vague for the police, or any other state authority, to go after the NL or its clubs for playing games.

In fact, I'd go further and say that the guidance is vague enough to allow all semi-pro football to be permissible.

The NL won't listen to him and probably rightly so but if they still haven't presented the resolution to be voted on by clubs that's a complete shambles.

Any football taking place at this level now as part of the 19/20 season by its very nature will be a shambles.
Should have been null and void, now a predictable mess of weakened squads, uncommitted players at the end of their contracts, debatable sporting consistency of fitness and form, a mess of epic proportions on promotion and relegation that will now seep into next season.

I understand they want the players to have a bit of training before the playoffs start, but mid July before the first playoff games are played is utterly ridiculous.

They're dragging this out, why the football league are trying to get League 1 & 2 over and done with as quick as possible.
