12 clubs can't afford £8333.33 each for a shot at promotion?
Don’t think you understood the point,it’s from supporters trust to help all the clubs through this bad time’s.
Our chairman just been on radio saying it’s going to cost the club 120-150k for play offs,That’s to start training this Thursday, taking player off furlough, but that’s up to us.
1 south club think it’s Dotking have said only coming back week before so obviously will be a lot less.
For me Havant and Dorking have been great for the #promote 2 campaign ,so if we raise the MASSIVE £8333 a team I’m happy.

Can these teams in the teams in north and south even afford the playoffs, should they go ahead?

Also, how much is your crowd funder up to now?

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Then again, compare squads, town have retained the vast majority of the squad with no furloughing. Arguably more invested in coaching staff and methods too. Doubt it will impact too much in light of this. That said arranging warm up friendlies could be difficult. Maybe town will play York if city get the nod for play offs.

Mental tho to think that after this length of lay off they will have a few weeks prep for the biggest games of the season with so much riding on it.
Bloody hell, 12 weeks pay, nearly full squad, no furloughing. Another month or more before your “season” ends, repeated Covid testing for all, and virtually no income. Is this shit or bust, or is the madman prepared to keep chucking money into this black hole? Just asking...

Yet another reason why insisting on football resuming at this level is a farce.
Should all have been null and voided from NL and below.
Only the clubs that can afford to win will get promotion. No sporting merit to it this.

Crowdfunded hardly got anything because play offs not certain yet,
I don’t think play offs should go ahead but defiantly should be 4 up and 4 down that is what the #promote 2 campaign is all about.
League rules say how many go up and down at start of season.

They signed Aaron Martin from guiseley, five figure transfer paid, the week after most of UK football stopped too.

Weaver senior doesn't care....it just means less tax to pay on his house building business, which town are a subsidiary company of. They chuck anything between 300-600k of losses each year at town.
....And more debt for someone not to pick up when they decide to see if laddie boy can manage a team without his daddy as boss.

During this spell Weaver did put most of the club's other workers on furlough. Nice touch. Something very nowadays about this approach. All whilst the club encouraged fans to raise money for the NHS, an organisation weaver knowingly avoids helping contribute to through his tax set up.

Alty reckon its gonna cost 50K for our playoff victory.:£
50K? Given our playoff record of failing 5 times out of 5 I genuinely don't think it's worth the bother for Brackley. I'd rather we were around to try again in the future rather than chucking such a large amount at a 1 in 6 chance, and risk the budget / future of the club.

If anyone can give me just a two line summary of where we are with this playoff shambles officially, I'd be grateful.

Your optimism is adorable

What'll really happen is the league's fax machine will have broken down, any votes that have already been received will have fallen down the back of the sofa, they won't be able to work out how to allocate the four votes from the step 2 divisions (because 22 / 4 is advanced algebra), and nothing will be allowed to go ahead anyway because the Fylde chairman sent out a bunch of lawyers to sue everyone, including himself as a result of early onset dementia

you might be right about the Fylde guy though - I mean he thinks Hampton & Richmond were second in NLS behind Eastbourne FFS...

Even if the vote passes it has to be ratifed by the FA Council which wont happen til next week
Unless the NL do something stupid like not having the NLN/NLS play offs and trying to relegate just Chorley it's almost just a rubber stamping by the FA though.

I think I tend to agree with this. Even if Wilkin gets a side on the field which navigates its way through the play-offs, I`m not sure how prepared the club would be to compete almost immediately (I assume) in the NL. We`ve known the best Brackley XI would be fine, but you need a squad not a side. No clubhouse either, no fans for a while, not sure what the point would be. I`d prefer that we wait for 2020/21 to start and have another go at promotion. The powers that be are smart guys and will be well aware of this even if they can`t say it publically.

Congratulations. Shame for the players, club and supporters you didn't get your big day but fair play, you've been top most of the season and by PPG you've earned it.

Cheers mate, as much as there seems to be all sorts of "banter" (hate the word) on twitter and the like, not that I'm ever involved, I've enjoyed our games this season. Good luck in the playoffs, you are my preference to go up.

Can't quite believe this finally got voted through! Hopefully we can give a good account of ourselves in L2, because no doubt it'll be mentioned by every opposition fan that we didn't deserve it, but at this moment in time, who gives a fuck. Ecstatic.
