So we're 10 games in to the season. That magical number where the so called experts say the table has begun to take shape. Are you happy, or disappointed with how the first ten games have gone? And do you think anything will change over the course of the season?

For us, it was a very poor start and 4 pts before the first international break was simply not good enough. Since then though, we've dropped just two points and sit 3 pts off 2nd. One defeat all season and along with a load of other teams have the best defence in the division. Pretty confident of a top six finish, and let's face it our team on paper should be finishing there. Whether we've got it in us to finish top two remains to be seen.

Yesterday was probably the best we've played this season. Things appear to be coming together finally, and it's rather pleasing that we've been managing to get results when we've not actually been playing very well.

Things are looking good. :)

unconvinced, 2 very good back to back wins has seen us labelled whiney fucks for our previous whiney fuckerey, however I can't see us improving on last year based on the evidence of these 10 games. We look so much better with Batth and McDonald back in the side, but any issues or loss of form from them could see us revert to the form we witnessed prior to beating the global football giants from the cottage.

Very pleasing. Far better than anyone could have hoped for.

Third, beaten some of our main promotion rivals recently and we've only just gotten started. Our attacking play is as good as it has been for years, and we're limiting the opposition to very few chances - Believe we've had 17 shots on target against us this season, half the amount of the next best in the league. We're dominating games at this level again for the first time really since our 106 point team. Our squad depth seems really good in most areas, and we hardly looked like we missed some good players in our wins against Burnley and Middlesbrough.

Only downsides for me is the amount of points we have thrown away already. Those first four games before everything really clicked we should have got 8-10 points from easily, and only came back with 3. Also the silly red card against Derby stopped us getting anything from that too. Hopefully those dropped points won't cost us at the end. I also think in some areas we are lacking in depth, we are one major injury at CB or RB currently from a massive weakening of the side. Goalies have been a problem area all season too, which is why despite our defence giving the opposition a ridiculously low amount of chances, we still only have the joint best defence.

I think given how we've started, and our performances especially, most Reading fans would now be disappointed if we didn't make the top 6. We should be looking to challenge for top 2 as well.

Might have to downgrade my expectations, think we'll have to settle for a playoff push

Bloody ecstatic!
From a super confident team who brushed a whole division aside with ease to a quivering wreck of a side who can't beat an egg and a Manager who has gone from a superb leader to one that couldn't run a bath!
Marvellous.

It's been a mixed bag: we got off to a great start and I was very happy after five games, but it's been all downhill since then. We've got some really good players, especially going forward, but McCarthy doesn't seem to know who his best team is and we're not doing the things that we were doing well last season. There's plenty of potential for a really strong team and we're still in touch with the leaders so no need to panic yet, I just think we need to change a few things because what we're doing at the moment isn't working well enough.

Terrible. and this probably isn't even the low point yet.

Bring on next season, as quickly as possible please. Hopefully this season doesn't set us too far back in terms of growing our fan base.

Like many it's a mixed bag, 7 wins from 13 games and just three defeats, we're getting goals from all over the pitch and i don't think we've hit top gear as yet so to be in touch with the top six is pretty impressive for us, hopefully we'll remain in touch til January then break the bank to sign a selfish 20 goal a season striker which is all we truly lack.

Not as deflated as a lot of our fans. The usual suspects on Twitter are already preparing for League 1 and want Grayson out but I doubt most of them have seen more than 2 games.

We aren't playing badly really, we just need to start taking our chances. I think we will turn things around this month.

Not unhappy, we aren't in the relegation zone but losing 6 games in a row is fucking shite.

Seeing as at the start of the season i predicted we would finish in mid table and we are third at the moment then i'm very happy. Now expect us to finish top 6.

Yeah, decent start. There wasn't much wrong in the first 5 games to be honest, bar a Chris Woods screamer we did ok. These last 5 have been good though, even when we've played below par we've picked up the points. Can't expect instant results when you throw 5 new playersin IMO, especially under a new coach who's also making his debut. Might be able to buy good players but you can't buy a team. Thankfully we're looking more like a team now. Looking forward to Wolves already.

We'll be going down with two others.

After a great first few games, I've never seen such a toothless bunch of players and we have a goalkeeper who gives away a goal every single game.

We can't seriously expect to stay up with a defence as poor as ours and fucking Nick Pope in goal.

My opinion is that we should be playing much, much better and be a much better position.

If I was an outsider looking in, I would be fairly underwhelmed by us. Nevertheless, I'm optimistic after the Brentford match that we are improving but there's a long way to go yet.

I said a few weeks ago that we looked like a mid-table side - I may well have been a tad harsh. However, I'm not that convinced that we're going to be a top six side at the end of the season, either.

Disappointed. We fucked ourselves with some proper shit business this summer, up against it big time now.

Not bad, much better in the last 2 games though. I feel if we didn't lose the Stearman / Batth partnership we would be top 6 though.

Disappointed with our points tally but no one has smashed us and we're yet to see a settled team due to injury and suspension.

Too early for me to really assess us but if we don't pick up a win this month then i'll start to become frustrated and start cutting Grayson less slack.

After an eye opening summer transfer wise that gave us a big reality check in terms of where we stand in this league, I don't think we can be too unhappy with 18th. It's our worst start to a Championship season in our 4th year, but I think there are definitely a good 5 or 6 teams worse than us.

Concerns around our reliance on loans, and our falling attendances, though.

Ditto. I said last week how Huddersfield's season mirrors ours, and so do our perspectives on the season. Except we're not quite as shit as you.
Saturday's scoreline flattered us, but you'll have to hunt down one of the rare Huddersfield fans who actually went to the game. Sorry, but 450 fans making a 110 miles journey is not good.

Good luck for the season, but I think you might struggle.

Wanna come to our place?, play us again ? out the traps too early maybe, shot the proverbial bolt and all that. You wanna come up on the rails and be more sneaky. Everyone took notice of you after that result at NYS, so early on in the season.

Concerned after a very promising start. I'm beginning to think we might not win the league.

That's an interesting way of looking at that actually, and I think you could be right.
