I love Jimmy Spencer of course, but I wouldn't test him against the brilliance of Rakish Bingham.

Nice to see a guy who's modest and admits the obvious. Well done Mr Raven.

Btw, I think what Oakroader's poem means is that he is accepting EricSabin's challenge, so should be listed together with the other agreed bets. But feel free to confirm ;)

He'll have to confirm properly, I refuse to accept poems as a sincere form of confirmation, it would only encourage that sort of behaviour. oakroader EricSabin

a retort to dear mr RavenBish
I cannot help feel that you're taking the pish.
I have indeed agreed to enter a pact
with EricSabin,and that's a fact.
the bet has been laid and I've accepted
come the end of the season im sure I'll be elated.
and as far as my answer being in rhyme
what's your problem? it's hardly a crime.
it sounds to me that your bit of a twat
but what the hell, put my name in the hat.

Any Barnet fan interested in £5 on who finishes higher between Stevenage and Barnet?
Will offer the same to a Cambridge fan if anyone's interested?

No Barnet fan thinks they can finish above former Man Utd, Tottenham and England ace Teddy Sheringham's Stevenage then?

Any Cambridge fan interested in a £5 bet that Cameron McGeehan scores more league goals than Luke "White Pele" Berry this season?

Good bet - I'll have some of that. Should be pretty even unless Luton do anything typically dastardly like make Cameron their penalty taker..

You can probably rest safely on that count. He's shown interest in a few penalties we've had, but never been allowed to take one. Jake Howells is our regular taker and has a good record, so I expect that will remain the case.

Expecting Cam will be a starter Judge? What position and in what formation? Cant work out for the life of me how we will play the coming season unless in the advanced central position with a back four

He'll play plenty yeah, no way we spunk £175k on him not to start at least 2/3rds of our matches.

I think 4-2-3-1 will still be the preferred formation with 3-5-2 and 4-4-2 options just as the season just gone, although it's hard to tell until we reveal our attacking signings (strongest rumour at the moment seems to be Josh McQuoid who would fit the Gray role in the 4-2-3-1 perfectly). I know Kenny expects us to play 3-5-2 for some reason but I don't see it - we only have three central defenders in the squad really and Still made a big point of wanting genuine competition between the three with them never knowing which one would be left out. Either way, Cam could (hopefully would) play in an advanced role in either the 4-2-3-1 or a 3-5-2 if Smith and Doyle are fit behind him (I expect he'd be first choice to drop back and cover an injury to either).

I expect he'll get goals wherever he plays though, he just seems to have that knack for bundling it in off his arse. He had a 1 in 5 ratio for us last season despite being played horribly out of position for most of his appearances. His scoring ratio between his spells at us and Cambridge combined equates to 12-14 goals a season... no way he'll make that, but I'd hope he'll get 5-10 if he stays injury free.

If that's what you think, you are a very generous supporter of this site. You don't think "the white Pele," who will usually be in the advanced CM or no.10 role, potential penalty taker and free kick or corner converter, will manage 10 goals in L2? His 14 goals in our promotion season were in a low scoring side. I think both he and we have gone up a level or two since then.

That said, it's all about opinions. I think if JS uses him in the same advanced CM or no. 10 role that Richard pushed him into, Cam will also get more than 10 - so I won't be asking you to double up your bet.

No, I don't think Berry will hit double figures this season. Sure, he scored a lot of goals at Conference level (well, in one season anyway)... but it's a whole different kettle of fish in the Football League. I'd be very surprised if either he or McGeehan exceeded the 5-10 league goals bracket this season.

Competition hotting up. Berry 0 - 1 McGeehan (pen) on Saturday. Berry 6 (5 in L2), McGeehan 9 (7 in L2) for the season so far.

i'll go a fiver that rakish bingham doesnt score in the league this season
I trust that Trapdoor paid up in August - I'm just getting worried that Rakish might be popping up the road to rescue Gateshead's season. There's no way he'd get in the Barrow side now that Jason Walker has decided to step up to the plate. :hypo:
Accepted. £5 L2 or £10 Championship. I'll put in £5 if/when he's loaned out to Gateshead or Barrow and scores in National League.
