Ok, on the back of the best 10 players in The Conference thread, lets find the best Conference team. One rule - you cannot vote for any of your own teams players, that's about it really. I know in the past there was a limit to how many players from one team were in the side, but I say that if a team has got 4 players or more who get the votes then they deserve to be in the side. I will collate the team as a 4-4-2 formation.

Starting off first, post your vote on this thread and I'll keep a tally. Voting closes 3pm Friday 24th.

GOALKEEPER. (1 nomination please)

Would probably be easier to do the whole team in one thread. Nice idea though.

We usually do it position by position, in separate threads. Don't we usually have a poll after nominations though?

However, remember guys, you can only nominate players that have played 65 times this season unless they play for Luton.

I'm just going on the home game against us. Very sound goalkeeper, who dominated his box.

I was going to do one position at a time but do centre-backs, centre-mids and strikers in one go and give 1 day for the votes for each position. The player to receive the most votes wins. I think that is the way is way done previously.

I don't see any need for a poll to be honest. The player receiving the most votes wins. If 2 are tied though I will put that out for everyone to decide who should be the winner.

Farman of Lincoln stopped it from being a proper hammering at our place.

Rhys Taylor of Macc.

Also, as is standard every year anyone that mentions their own players or spouts on in such a fashion as "well, seeing as I can't vote for my own player I guess I'll have to say..." should be struck from the voting.

I'm going left field with Crowcombe at Nuneaton.
Prior to going on international duty he kept 6 straight clean sheets for a team deep in relegation trouble which I think is some acheivement considering they were regularly conceding 2,3 or 4 prior to his arrival

I will too, with Stuart Coburn of Alty. Won't make a difference to the overall vote obviously, just thought he was worth a mention as he was excellent at our place.

Haven't seen too many standout performances from goalkeepers this season but James McKeown was solid in both our fixtures against Grimsby Town, particularly at The Mem on the opening day. He gets my vote.

Matt Glennon. Outstanding in both games against us, especially up there.

I'd agree about Matt Glennon. Easily the best keeper we've had since we reformed in 2010. Pity we couldn't keep him.

Thanks. I made an account months ago but never got round to registering, i've been watching from afar, per se.
