We have our final team, clear winners in the last 3 slots with Jack Mackreth of Grimsby taking the right wing slot and Jon Parkin of Forest Green and John Akinde of Barnet clear winners in the forwards vote.

So our final team for 1FF CONFERENCE TEAM OF THE YEAR 2014/15 is....

GK - RHYS TAYLOR (Macclesfield Town)
LB - LEE BROWN (Bristol Rovers)
CB - MANNY SMITH (Wrexham)
CB - TOM PARKES (Bristol Rovers)
RB - ANDY YIADOM (Barnet)
LM - JAI REASON (Eastleigh)
CM - LUKE YOUNG (Torquay United)
CM - PAUL TURNBULL (Macclesfield Town)
RM - JACK MACKRETH (Grimsby Town)
ST - JON PARKIN (Forest Green Rovers)
ST - JOHN
AKINDE (Barnet)

Thanks to everyone who voted.

Barring maybe the front two, that would be team that on the whole looks like it could really work together.

I was thinking something similar and wondered how well that team would do against decent opposition. Would you fancy it to beat most teams in Division Two, some in Division One and maybe a weaker Championship side?

I agree with the comment about the front two, much as I love Parkin and rate Akinde, I would want forwards who are a little more mobile. I might be a bit biased, as he used to play for us, but Matty Taylor might work well in that team...if they could keep the ball on the ground, but I'm not too sure who to partner him with.

Surprised Josh Payne didn't make the team.

That's what happens when you base the 'team of the year' on two games.

Yep, over the course of the season I don't think Jack Mackreth would even be in the top 5 best right wingers in the league, he's had a really good spell which is obviously when he's caught the eye but for over half the season he's been bang average. Carl Magnay and Shaun Pearson should almost certainly be in this squad for being consistently solid under the radar.

Not that I'm complaining mind as the format is what it is and can't really be anything else, I think the selections are perfectly fine.

If supporters from different teams have voted, then it won't be just over two games.

EDIT - I usually get involved in this, but as said in another thread, I've only managed 6 games all season so kept out of it.

Plus Lady Vale won't be happy to see Stuart Tomlinson misses out on the keepers jersey.
