When does one end and one begin officially, even though we stopped playing weeks ago , the cup final is on Saturday so it's still this season, so at what point does this season become next season,.although technically I suppose this season simply turns into another this season ?

I would say it 'officially' starts on the opening weekend of the season. Everything that happens before that point is merely preparation for the first fixture (which is why it is called 'pre-season' I guess!).

Personally, however, I start to think of a new season as being 'this season' when the players have returned to training in early July.

I would say June 30th/1st July. Thats when players contracts expire (I beleive) and are then officially part of their new club.

As far as I am concerned the season ends after the playoff final.

We have signed new players already and announced pre-season friendlies, so to me, it already is the new season

When the fixtures come out.

Until then all the websites show the 2014/15 stats, tables, results, league set-up and pyramid.

come fixture date you've added the 6 sides coming in, removed the ones going, know your fixtures and all results have been removed and put into previous years history.

Fixture day for me too. By then you've got all your clubs sorted, all the games, pre season friendlies starting soon, few players signed.
