POOLS are getting new owners on Monday, anyone thinking of having a daft fiver on us ought to do so before any silly money starts being thrown about ( I hope! )

Interesting looking at the current popular bets rather than current odds.
Most bets to win : Portsmouth and Cambridge
Promotion: Cambridge and Luton
Relegation: Newport
Playoff winners: Plymouth & Wycombe
To finish bottom: Hartlepool and Exeter.

I guess this is more a judgement of the current odds available rather than likelihood people think of it happening

Hartlepool are also receiving the most bets for team to stay up :)

I suspect these two have received so few bets that bets placed at the end of last season are still being factored in. Same with the playoff winners

Betting on Fourth division football is like walking in to a minefield with one of those dodgy bomb detectors sold to the Iraqi's by that Somerset conman.

When the bookmakers haven't got a scooby, what chance have the punters got?

Summer arrives. A shed load of scraping, and recruiting, and faffing goes off. Most teams look little like they did the previous season. Clubs get handed the favouritism tag on name and reputation, and throwing around of cash.

Then what happens?
You get the likes of little old Burton Albion winning the blooming thing.

My advice is, send me your money and I'll hold on to it for safe keeping until next summer.

Although it's looking like Pompey are favorites , I couldn't begin to tell you who will be fighting it out at the bottom, it could be 2 from 20 at the moment

So far I advise Exeter at 40/1 who I really think are the standout value.

My reasoning for this is I rate Tisdale as a boss and he has acheived success at this level in the past.

Previous seasons he has been working on a shoestring budget but this year they are investing in the team as they sold their star player Matt Grimes to Swansea for £1.75mil in January.

They have signed Bobby Olejnik in goal who is highly rated in goal.
They also have Ryan Harley who has excelled at this level before and at his best is way too good for this league IMO.

Also, left back Riberio who is rated at the club has signed a new contract at the club.

Exeter are going quite well...
