I don’t like the guy in the slightest, I was appalled when we appointed him and still haven’t been to a home game. But I will give him credit, he’s cobbled together a reasonably decent squad on a shoe string budget and on the whole he has been behaving himself. I still don’t think we’ll be good enough to reach the play-offs, but I will say that he’s doing a good job.

Now I’m off for a lay down.

PS he’s still a fat wanker and a crook.

The antics were pretty much classic Evans on Saturday, maybe he was doing it for old times sake as he has history going back with us probably further than any club.
Maybe he's calmed down as he still looks like a walking heart attack to me.

I've seen the replays of the tackle that annoyed SE. How that wasnt a straight red I don't know, could have broken his leg. No wonder Evans went off his trolley.

i am far from being a fan either, but i am not going to complain, considering where we are now, compared to the past 3 seasons.

Was a red no doubt about it, but he'd pushing luck before that and continued to push his luck throughout . Told by a mate who follows Burton he was lively that day too.
From memory I doesn't take much to really Mr Evans but yes it was a bad challenge and the Cowleys could be bad too but Evans is level above, bet he made no mention of the one by Fuller on Grant that sent Grant flying? Bostwick challenge was not a red he won the ball.
The ref was appalling on Saturday woefully inconsistent.

Your defence should have an easier game against Ipswich as Norwood is out injured and Jackson will be suspended.

Plus we are generally toothless as a team. 4 wins in 22!

Happy with a point at St Andrews.
We were decent enough first half but too many players had off days.
Coventry were much quicker second half, Robins must have laid into them at half time.

Lost Barlaser with what looks like a serious injury, which is very bad news for us and very good news for all the other challengers

We weren't too great tonight but got the job done against an MK side that play some good football but are simply too soft.

The night couldn't have gone better from our point of view with the other four challengers all dropping points to each other. Need to make sure we follow tonight up with another home win against Rochdale on Friday night.

Driving home in a blizzard excluded, that was brilliant. Through the emotional wringer over the course of the game, just as well Salop missed all their chances to win it second half, some great scenes at the end.

A huge victory for us and I thought we deserved it. Shrewsbury were fortunate to still be in the game at half time and other than the first fifteen minutes of the second half, I thought we were the better side.

The January signings are finally starting to gel and we created more chances tonight than we have in the last two months. Clarke and Ellis looks a great partnership at the back as well.

Now everyone's starting to catch up with their games in hand the table is properly taking a bit of shape, and we're still in the mix! Must beat Wimbledon at the weekend though as a lot of the weekend fixtures see top half v bottom half. Our March is a bit of a pig, with trips to Sunderland, MK Dons and Rotherham, and a single home game against Fleetwood. If we're still in touching distance after that lot then I'll start to get excited, but I'd be surprised if we were.

Absolutely gutted to concede to with literally the last kick of the game in stoppage time, I guess thats an indication of the expectation levels which have risen even though it was supposed to be mighty Sunderland. Still we've played them 4 times now, still unbeaten against them and have led in 3 of the matches. Every game now is huge for all the play off positions, in that respect this is an excellent league

I don’t think you'll have a problem. I thought we'd lost every time we'd played at Fratton Park, but we seem to have got a point in the great escape of Spring 1979. We even lost in 2013/14, when we got promoted and Pompey were a bit crap, in the "no need to mark Bondz N'gala from corners, just because he's about 7 foot tall" match...

Having said that, just had an email reminder from the club re coach/travel and tickets, tomorrow is payday and I'm off work til Saturday. Never been to FP, so tempted to go, just for the hell of it... :)

James Henry and Taylor are on fire.

It was a weird game in that there was some excellent play and then some absolutely comedically bad play from both teams. The double save by Eastwood was just superb but was capped off nicely by a shocking miss from the Accrington forward, which went over from a yard out in front of the goal.

We have serious issues. Season over.

The decision to give Lambert a new 5 year deal at the turn of the year seemed risky at the time; now it just looks downright mental.

I thought you had switched the forum off and taken your ball home for a moment.
