Big game tomorrow.

We arent exactly flying ourselves! Really need to be picking up three points tomorrow. Hope the devasting loss of Jordan gives us extra motivation

I think it certainly did indeed with a 6-1 thrashing of Gloucester. Good grief what a result.

Well done Alferton. Looks a cathartic scoreline.

What a staggering thing to hear about, still. I barely reacted when I picked up the news during Saturday's game. Then it drips into you that someone a few years younger than you has gone.

Our 2016/17 squad was so underrated. Because we played Heathball, weren't a very clean side, brought in older, experienced players used not to playing in the leagues above but more used to pulling off miracles in the leagues below, and had a few unorthodox-looking men in there like Tom Denton and Danny Clarke, even its success seemed to be resented by some of the "supporters". There was a toxic atmosphere there at times, and some spectators appeared more invested in us finishing mid-table to get rid of Heath than seeing success under him. It put a damper on it for the rest of us when we actually did well, attracting for the playoff final our greatest home crowd for decades.

Jordan Sinnott's role in that was one that gradually improved. He was the bit of creative flair you need in midfield, alongside Matty Kosylo. People often exaggerate when we eulogise the dead but when he went off to Chesterfield at the end of the season, we were sure he'd be Football League then and forever after. As the Chesterfield clown car putted and spluttered into the relegation zones, we were hopeful he'd return to us at some point.

It was seen as an indictment of our recruitment at the time, I think, when Sinnott chose to join Alfreton instead. What a lot of people neglect to consider are Heath's personal qualities that mean players follow him from job to job. It does puzzle us that he didn't remain a professional player though, at least.

Anyway Sinnott set up those two goals in our playoff final. We pulled off a great feat, a promotion straight back into the Conference after a year's absence, thanks to him. That's a huge deal and it could've sealed our fate as a viable club in the long term. Let me tell you Heath, and Sinnott at his less confident, could have had a lot more leeway with watchability with that promotion Heath predicted in July, and achieved the next year.

I didn't know him personally, and if the charges are correct then it makes Sinnott's death even more tragic. My favourite Sinnott moment still has to be him netting the winner at Kidderminster deep into our 2016/17 season. A difficult playoff candidate who gave us a very difficult time. It was only a 2–1 win but everyone was so jubilant that evening.

So DSL, was that performance by Alfreton tonight for Jordan or what?!
Oh yes!

What a special night last night at the Impact. The boys understanding were well up for it and put in a performance to remember that was a fitting tribute to Jordan. Barely a dry eye in the house when Danny Elliott put the shirt aloft after scoring the opener.

How the fuck has Danny Elliott not been getting a game at Chester. He has the complete package. Strength, speed and a good finisher. Very impressive debut.

All in all a very satisfactory evening. Problem is there was only 296 there to witness it.

Seems like Harriers and Gloucester are doing the best to get relegated this season.

Had him stuck out wide! Did say he was a good athlete though so has those attributes.

Meanwhile up at Gateshead....

Thought this forum had died!

Beat Hereford FC 2-0 at weekend.

Our first clean sheet since October. Been a good week after the awful news about Jordan.

Fingers crossed we can keep this run going at Farsley on Saturday

Of course the forum is down as we actually win a game and not just win a game, win a game against top of the league and a team who haven't lost at home for over 500 days.

Clean sheet, solid performance against Kings Lynn who apparently we kept quiet all game.

Very surprised that kiddy are doing that bad one of best team to visit us this season.
Not sure what happened Saturday we scored 3 headers in a game and 2 from corners,we never score with headers.Think that says more about how poor Chester were at defending and struggle to see how they are 3rd,they were defiantly a better team at home against us.

Horror show at the back. Ball in to the box = goal. That should be easy pickings for the likes of Livesey and Grand.

It was deja-vu our game against Guiseley. If i recall from last week I've seen the same performance, and same result down at Chester last weekend.

Very little to discuss in fact, created absolutely zilch all afternoon two Saturday's on the trot.

We have such a small squad that a suspension or injury really exposes us. At Boston we never looked like scoring but a week later we go and beat King's Lynn. We have the ability to put in great performances but we're so inconsistent. I'm just happy we're now 7 points off the relegation zone with a game in hand on Blyth.

Also, results couldn't have gone better for us, Blyth lost, Gloucester lost, Hereford lost, and Kettering and Curzon drew,

Funny how King's Lynn seem to have come into the NLN title race out of nowhere, having been reformed as recently as 2010 and promoted from the Southern Premier only last season with actually fewer points per game than they are enjoying now.

Are they another of those money-backed teams or is it just down to really good management?

With a strike force Gash and Marriot I'd imagine there's some money behind them. Don't know for definite though.

Defo bankrolled. Although if speak to them they will cry of a low budget and small squad. Its all bollocks.

They had Grant Holt on over £1k a week (plus a couple of other ex-Norwich players) and that was in the Southern Premier.

Alty just paid an undisclosed fee and signed winger Dan Mooney from Fleetwood Town.
Replaces Johnston I assume which is ironic as Mooney was on loan last year at,... Chester :£

Any good Chester fans ?

Ah well, hopefully York will get 90+ points and that will be enough to win the league, if not they'll win the play-offs, first decent season their long-suffering fans have had in ages and they more than deserve success.

Alty 5 - Telford 2. With 75 coaches and managers watching tonight (as only game on it seems) Alty tore Telford to shreds at times tonight, Mooney laid on 2 goals and made a great debut and what a player Mahon is,.... Think I know who got the best end of the deal with Chester. Telford are no mugs coming forward but defensively weak. Got great chance now of top 3, Boston and Gateshead looking strong and York improved, should be an exciting end to the season in Conf North me thinks:2thumb:

I see Hereford FC have signed Lennell John Lewis. Decent signing for this level.

Ridiculous signing.

Also, see Eliott Durrell was released by York, looks a bit overweight in the photo they posted but would imagine he'd still do a job at most teams.

Durrell is a decent player but hardly played, can not recall him playing a full game but did well coming on for last 15 mins.
Kieron Green plays his position and firmly believe he been York’s best player this season def York’s best signing.

I don't hold much hope for any points tomorrow, Telford seem to be our bogey team. They've scored four against us in two games already this season!

First away league draw of the season on the road at Farsley today

Appalling first half but thankfully things improved in the second and we had the lion share of the chances and looked the most likely but had to settle for a point.

11 points from 6 games in 2020 now. A real upturn in fortunes after 1 win in 11 largely thanks to the capture of Danny Elliott on loan from Chester FC who has 5 goals in 3 appearances and has been a revelation.

Next up a trio of home games starting with Gateshead on Tuesday. Need to win all three to stay in the play off picture.

Windy as hell but wouldn't wish sitting through our game today on anyone! Awful.

We were miles better than Blyth but far from our best at the same time, they managed to stay in the game but were probably the most limited team I've seen against us this season.
