Have you had that Bulmers Pioneer stuff? I'm not a massive cider drinker. A hipstery looking hairdresser down the road from where I live used to give it to their customers but apparently they're not allowed to now. My neighbour knocked on my door telling me they were giving their stock away for free and let me borrow his hand trolley. Went there and loaded up five boxes of 24. Now I have loads of cider. Shame it gives me heartburn!
Nice.

A whetherspoons is at the bottom of the street from me, and whereas I don’t really like the owner and it’s a bit shit the price and the location sway me more often than not (the other place charges about £5.50 a pint)

They were giving their stock away as well so managed to get 5 boxes of old Rosie for £30, which has kept me going for some while haha.

And yeah it gives me heartburn too :pond:

Oh Old Rosie is great, that's definitely more the type of cider I'm into. Loopy juice though, that stuff!

Drink a lot of Thatchers, but normally only ever 1 or 2 Old Rosie. Gives everyone heartburn I think.

Sams Medium and Thatchers Katy are far superior ciders for most situations. Westons vintage isnt too bad either.

The Katy is nasty stuff, not into that.

And yeah, the old Rosie is maybe a glass or 2 and that’s it, be running round the neighbourhood naked otherwise haha.

You’re right about the westons stuff in the black bottle though, cracking stuff. In quote pleased the “haze” has made its way up here too, only seemed to get it when used to go down to Exeter or Weston supermare to see mates when we were playing down that way.

There’s another one down that way called rattler or something, That’s pretty decent

Ah yeah Cornish Rattler.... Where I grew up they used to serve it with a slice of lemon or lime which is pretty weird but surprisingly tasty.

Grimsby and Mansfield has to be the most one sided “rivalry” going.

Constantly wanking off about what we’re doing, yet no-one from Mansfield even gives a shit

Hahaha probably the only Mansfield thread I've seen on The Fishy!

Despite so many players being released we’ve still got the basis of a strong L2 squad, which should see us being in and around the play offs again :brill::hb:...

Two solid keepers in Maxted and Ward
Parkes is a dependable CB and Jack Sparkes has been excellent at LB.
Law, Collins and Atangana is an excellent midfield trio for this level
Randell Williams is probably the best winger in the league.
Bowman, despite his drawbacks is a 15 goal striker and IF we can get Ajose fit all season he will score.
I’d imagine many clubs will be relying on their academies to fill gaps in the squad and that’s where we are in a strong position as we’ve got some exciting players coming through.

Having said that, we are short on numbers defensively so Taylor needs to make that his priority in the summer. An experienced CB and RB are a must. Also, it’s probably likely that Williams will be sold which will weaken us quite a bit, so next year may be one where we finish mid table, but I’d be ok with that.

I hope Matt Taylor doesn't really believe that Exeter need to fill the squad with 6 foot 4 cloggers if they're to stand any chance of ever going up.I could be wrong but that's the impression I'm getting.

True that they were battered in the po final, but I think it's wrong to say the Cobblers's main tactic is to bully the other teams as they've also got a handful of ball players in their side.

Northampton really surprised me tbh, they were shite both times we played them

I hope so too. I think he’s more talking about addressing the character within the squad and signing players with a winning mentality.

He called out some players for the way they capitulated mentally on Monday, particularly the ones who’d lost in previous playoffs.

I’d love us to get a player in who’s had a recent promotion on their CV. Someone like McCormack who’s just left Northampton as an example, which could make a huge difference.

We only got to play them once and that was at their ground. They scored two goals in the first half and iirc I said afterwards they were a decent side and should be up there come the end of the season. I was impressed by how solid they were at the back tbh.

Well of course my opinion like yours is only based one 1 or 2 games and they clearly deserved it.

Northampton will get found out in L1 like they also do and will be back down here in a season or 2

If it makes you feel any better I’ve seen Mansfield in 4 and unsurprisingly we’ve won 0.

We’ve also lost about 483 penalty shoot outs in a row as well.

Here to help

I think for us it depends on whether we can keep hold of Williams. Collins and Sparkes have also attracted interest. We have some good youngsters coming through and many of them have now had a few seasons out on loan at local non league clubs so should have match experience.
In addition to a couple more defenders I'd like to see a proper left winger (not Corbyn) and for Ajose to get his shit together and be the striker to build a team around.
Oh and Ollie Watkins being sold for £30 mn would be nice

Ajose has been disappointing due to his injuries but I think some are overly harsh on him. I’ve seen people saying he’s stealing a wage and he’s the worst striker we’ve had in years etc...I doubt he wants to have injuries so it’s not all his fault. He’s scored 5 in 15 starts so certainly not dreadful and IF we can keep him fit I’m confident he will score 15+ next season.

And yes, if Watkins gets sold that will be a total game changer. I’m hoping Brentford stay down and surely he will be in high demand. Also if Ampadu gets games for Chelsea next season we will be due another £250k soon...

I dont think injuries have anything to do with it. Whenever he's been fit he's been useless and his attitude on the pitch when he feels like he's not being spoon fed is disgusting. I dont mind players not being technically great at this level but there is absolutely no excuse for having a shit attitude and not making effort.

Ajose was incredibly frustrating at Mansfield, there’s some talent, and he definitely put in the work but it just wasn’t good enough.

I’d want rid of Ajose if I was a Exeter fan, I bet he’s the highest paid player in that squad.

He was the same 3 seasons ago. He's a lost cause.

Brilliant for us. We do specialise in turning underperforming strikers and turning them into goal machines.

Style of play has a lot to do with it.

We have a track record of that as well to be fair.

But they have to make the effort and have the correct attitude. From what I've seen so far, that is sadly lacking from this individual.

I think injures have a contributory factor and by saying whenever he’s been fit he’s been useless is just wrong. Like I said 5 in 15 is ok...If it had been 0 in 15 then I’d agree with you.

I’m not saying he’s my favourite Taylor signing, far from it, but I want to see him have a consistent run of 15-20 starts to see what he’s capable of.

5 goals in 15 games isnt goal machine quality.

No it’s not. But neither is it totally shit like some of our fans are making him out to be.

I meant when he played for us - 40 in 76 games ain’t bad. Not Doyle-esque but 1 in 2 not to be sniffed at.

He’s only scored 98 goals in his entire career of 327 games.
