Nah far too late. We're halfway through July mate and all the L2 clubs have settled on their starting eleven by now. And I see no fun to be had at predicting the table at this late stage of the pre season.

Good call on Barnet. It's gonna be them and I can barely contain my excitement at the prospect of watching the live stream of the match on ifollow.

You always seem to pull a few bangers of signings out of the bag somehow, plus isn't Mills and someone else decent staying now? Nobody really standing out for me this season, either.

Mills not confirmed yet, people are guessing based on a cryptic tweet last week but still no news.

We seem to take a lot of punts on unproven players, some work, a lot don't. We also have a high turnover of players. Of the squad that finished 5th and played Tranmere in the play offs in May 2019, only 4 are still at the club.

Yet again this summer, although we've been fairly active, we've seen a whole load go out, including some of our better players and brought in mainly unproven ones. Even if some are gems it's gonna take a lot to challenge the more settled squads given how we ended last season winning 3 in 19. My money would be on Bolton, Vale and Salford. Reckon your lot will surprise a few too.

There's a lot of expectation on Ollie to exploit his pool of contacts and enthusiasm to get players through the door that are of a decent calibre for this level. If he can deliver on that front, then yeah we could be in with a shout. I think our season will hinge quite heavily on the standard of season long loans he can secure. If he can bring in a few as good as he did withe Glennon and Benson from Burnley, I'll be delighted.

Quite a lot of people seem to be fancying us this season! Personally I’d be surprised if we are challenging to win the league but would be hopeful for play offs. We were steady enough last season but we never looked like we were going to get in the play offs/ challenge for promotion until February. I think we are short of a goal scorer currently, but hopefully Askey sorts that out before the season starts. We are also a fair way behind Salford, Mansfield, Bolton etc in terms of our budget.

1. I bet with Son of Cod we finish above them
2. Too early to have us in the promotion places, we still only have 13 professional players at the club with the two we have signed, i'll wait until i see if we have strength in numbers first

Of course you're going to finish above Grimsby pal, and it won't be just you but about 20 other clubs as well. Way I see it is this - Ian H (the best L2 manager bar none) will have had enough come October and walks away.

And another thing. You've only got 13 professional players at the club right now? Why, that's the right time to predict the table then. Or at least that's the way we like to do things round here. The earlier the better we say.

Well if he walks away in October he can leave the £100k he used of his own money to invest in the club

It is actually a fact that Ollie is the best manager in the division though mate.

I'm hoping there'll be some good value on us going up this year, I don't think the bookies will factor in half the stuff you lot are on here and so a lot of teams with perceived bigger budgets should be shorter prices.

I was hoping we'd be a right dark horse but it seems like we're a clear FAV for the autos .

I'm very confident we'll be top 7, less confident of top 3 but with a bit of luck then why not.

Not doing a full countdown, but here's my hopes..

Promoted: Tranmere, Vale, Bradford and Exeter

Relegated: Salford + 1. If either Harrogant or Bore'emrigid get promoted, they can be the +1, otherwise don't care. Probably Morecambe, as they've lost the protection of Kev Ellison's horcrux...

What, you think we'll be promoted? Don't be daft. Another Wembley defeat is on the cards, it's how we roll :ds:

Wouldn't have it any other way

I love the way Bolton fans think they are going to piss it. At least the Bradford fans last season had a bit of humility.

I look forward to the Bolton implosion.

I recall when we were relegated to League Two in 2007, we all thought we’d piss the league. Irrespective of a big backing, vocally and financially, it took us 6 years to get out.

Definitely. But that's the worry then is it not? Too good to be managing a 4th div side I think.
As Harry said, he's put 100k into the club so not sure how easy it would be to get a manager and board member off us.

Didn't realise you had signed Tom Lowery, to be fair. Stadium will look great 20% full too, especially when the sub-50 followings arrive.

Everyone seems to be putting us in the play offs again. Fuck that, I’d rather finish 19th
