No preview. Less is more...

Telford vs Halifax
Chester vs Lincoln
Eastleigh vs Grimsby

We appear to be very short on numbers.

Farman's got flu, our non-contract terms number 2 was a no show at the weekend, which leaves our 40 year old GK coach.

No Miller apparently along other absentees Diagne and Bencherif. So Nat Brown is our only available CB.

Adams is also a doubt after being subbed on Saturday and Nolan is suspended, which leaves us with 3 CM's, one of which is Todd Jordan who a) we've been trying to get rid of and b) has only just returned from a loan spell at Stalybridge Celtic.

Basically we'll potentially be without 5 first teamers. Yay!

This all looks like a home win, but this is Chester and we don't do the expected. I'm cautiously optimistic, but a draw wouldn't be a disaster.

Even with those missing players for Lincoln, I agree with Railway Blue that a draw would be ok for us. Especially as we only need about 10 points from the last 15 games.

I've got similar feelings ahead of tonight as I did before Kiddy on Saturday....no idea how it will go as we have been so inconsistent all season - sometimes we turn up and get a good result and other times we just get turned over easily.

We're away at Hyde in the Cheshire Senior Cup. Ideal scenario would be turning up with 8 men (kids), going 5-0 down in the opening 20 minutes, Askey literally throwing a white towel onto the pitch and us agreeing a final score of 18-2 to Hyde.

Will most likely end up having to field a number of first teamers, they'll get crocked, we'll win on penalties and have no players left for the run in.

Obviously no Thomas for us, Brown still out injured and we lost Pittman at the weekend but everyone else has travelled.

I expect Robertson to probably start in place of Thomas, with Parslow being dropped. Who knows what is going to happen upfront. If LJL is fit you would expect him to come back in for Pittman. However we have just signed Jolley who I doubt we have signed to sit on the bench, question is does he come in on the wing in place of Arnold/Mackreth or do we go 4-3-3, and were does that leave the returning Neilson?

Certainly good problems to have, but I wouldn't want to be in Hurst's position, especisally with our fickle fans and the fact they now expect us to walk the league because we beat Barnet and a relegation club and now signed two players. God help us if we lost a couple again!!

Personally I'd like to see us go back to 4-3-3/4-5-1 formation that worked so well up until the Kiddy game. With LJL upfront and Palmer an Jolley as the two wide strikers. With 3 central midfielders. That will see Arnold/Mackreth dropped and one or 2 including Neilson not even making the bench, but those three are so inconsistant I'd take that.

Terrible, terrible team tonight. Nolan, Miller, Adams, Bencherif and Diagne all missing so Farman is the only first teamer out of the aforementioned (minus Diagne) that makes it.

Farman, Caprice, Brown, Jordan, Newton, Mendy, Power, Robinson, Marshall, Burrow, Tomlinson

Subs are a non-contract 'keeper, DSY, Waite and two youth players.

Looks like a CM at CB and a ST in CM.

Macca , Robertson, Toto, Pearson, Magnay, Disley, Clay, Arnold, Jolley, Lenny, Palmer

No Neilson, and he's thrown out a cryptic tweet tonight too. Will be an absolute travesty if we lose our most creative player due to our managers own stubbornness. He's clearly never quite liked him, perhaps he's just too exciting for boring Paul.

Good start for us.

Hopefully we don't just sit back now like we did against Kiddy.

If Hyde's Twitter account is to be believed, we have made 11 changes from Saturday's game for the Cheshire Senior Cup tie tonight and our youth team coach is the only named substitute. I'm not really sure if this information belongs here or in the tinpot thread.

Devils advocate but its not really unexpected. Neilson has been out injured for a while, and Arnold and Mackreth have been doing ok lately, and we have just signed Jolley. Not really surprised Neilson hasn't come in today, he will get his chance again soon. He was out warming up before the game tonight.

Also creativity is not really our problem, we have the most shots on target and most shots altogether in the league, its putting them away that's the problem not creating them.

A Chester win puts them just 6 points off the play-offs. Great effort for a reprieved team.

So we fail to score against Lincoln in 90 minutes and in the next 120 minutes they have conceded 6!

No wonder Andy Scott was sacked....
