Forest Green Rovers v Torquay United (Tomorrow)

Braintree Town v Boreham Wood
Cheltenham Town v Kidderminster Harriers
Chester v Altrincham
Dover Athletic v Welling United
Eastleigh v Bromley
FC Halifax Town v Lincoln City
Gateshead v Barrow
Grimsby Town v Guiseley
Southport v Wrexham
Tranmere Rovers v Macclesfield Town
Woking v Aldershot Town

A trip to Dover for me. Should be an interesting game, Welling are still by far the worst team I've seen in this league.

Odds on Braintree getting called off?

We've played the Long Con against Southport. They will be over confident and easy pickings following our clever ruse of being shit over the last two games.

We're playing very well now and are showing the tactical awareness to get positive results against full-time outfits. Midfielders Walker, James and Wroe are chipping in with goals, our defence is communicating well, then there's reliable Burrow up front and the ever improving Tuton. A set back could come at any time and what Harvey does is bound to fail at some point, but for now we're all confident and excited. Hoping for a bumper crowd and continuation of our unbeaten streak.

Rovers haven't got round to extending the contracts of Adam Mekki, who got both assists for the Rovers goals at Macc and Matt Hill. If we don't give Mekki another deal, I'd be well pissed off, while our other left-back is injured. Sounded like we were lucky taking all 3 points off the Silkmen at Moss Rose, expecting another close game.

Away to Woking, nailed on 3 points, no matter how well they are doing and how shit we are.

Why did BT choose this match, and not Boxing Day?

Comfortable home win.

Even with Hearn back (half fit at best) can't see any better than a draw from this one. Also will it be on? More rain for Halifax I believe?

Oh don't you worry about the rain, we've fixed that little problem- no raincheck for Lincoln i'm afraid.

It should be on. Our pitch is in good condition compared to yours. Could suit you if it is a bit boggy. The best chance we've had, and probably that we'll get, to take six points off you.

It's pissing it down in Braintree now. Guaranteed to be postponed. Again.

What's the craic with that pitch? Has the rain in Essex been as bad as it's been in the Pennines and Lake District?

Do you think that you might be faced with the same situation that Gateshead had a few years ago, with a totally unplayable pitch, and have to play home games somewhere else?

No. The league never seem to does anything about it, year after year. Probably Braintree chairman Lee Harding pulling the strings with the National League.

Ha. Certainly in my neck of the woods we've had a bit of rain, nothing different from the norm recently. Seems like Witham and Chelmsford have had their fixtures played okay...

At least Boston's slightly closer to Braintree than Gateshead.

I'm guessing it's like our pitch over the past several years and Gateshead's three years ago, except it takes some effort to have it ruined by November/December.

Don't you have to share yours with egg-chasers? Those goons can wreck just about anything.

No more rain than usual. It's all to do with the clay or some bulls hit. Apparently will cost 175k to remove it and put it right. Youth tournament was played on the pitch in mid November and it's been unplayable pretty much ever since. Guessing we will struggle to get a game on till late Feb. Pitch covers are being used but that made little difference a couple years ago when we had an 8week winter break.

That comes across with a tint of shame in your voice Adam? Must wind the hell up out of you?

Although sympathetic to Braintree as that's a lot of money, surely having an adequate pitch should be a prerequisite of being in the league? It's bad enough when games regularly get postponed in a regional league, but in a national league it's even more significant given the costs other teams (and their supporters) can accrue.

Alty are 3/3 against us since Burr took charge here.

I'd like to be optimistic but you can see my dilemma.
