No offence but you are one of them, so I don't believe you, all you people do is ask managers questions trying to get a story that doesn't exist to sell a paper

I'm not going to make any outlandish predictions, not falling into that trap.

You'll all see, though. I will be bookmarking Vanni's original post.

Looking forward to this new challenge.

I knew Gowling had issues with past managers! Could Lincs fans care to elaborate on that because our fans seem to think he's an angel.

Fwiw, I would've wanted the Cowleys back in November. I remember him issuing the statement that he was staying too so it was definitely more than paper talk. Bloke has a massive ego though so he will leave Lincoln in 1-2 seasons.

Think Lincoln will do well too. Not title challengers but definitely a playoff push.

Re Gowling, he had a quite sizeable fallout when David Holdsworth (shudder) was in charge here, basically because he called him out on his dwindling performance level - he seems like a man incapable of accepting the truth if it doesn't suit him.

Fairly certain he had issues at Gillingham as well previously.

I don't think any L2 club will turn down the opportunity to work with the Cowleys if they're given the chance. They've been a success at every club they've been to, and so far their managerial record is spotless. So, I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised to learn that Grimsby did actually enquire about the Cowleys. But there's a big difference between merely showing an interest and aggressively pursuing someone, especially when the man you want is under contract with another club.

He did indeed (ended up training with the youth team there!) and a couple of his other teams prior to joining us.
The Cowleys will definitely leave a good bit before their contracts run out here in 2021, two more season is my guess.
Met both of them and seem decent enough blokes, very grounded and very focused on the job.
Not like any management team who we've had at Lincoln in a very long time.

Christ the jealousy on here about the Cowleys is through the roof. You all dig at them but you'd all love them at your club. FACT. And Ego? Confident, likeable and Articulate. Football fans aren't used to that from a manager, you're all wary about him.

That llama guy on about Southend? Get real man. No league 1 or 2 side could even get him to an interview! He's got all the resources he needs here and virtually the key to the city. Not even managed in the league yet, he's not daft he'll want to feel his way in over the next couple of years with no pressure and he's rightfully afforded himself the chance to do that with us.

Next stop for him will be champ with a Norwich or Ipswich then prem then England manager in 10-15 years maybe less. Bookmark. Laugh all you want but look at Graham Taylor or Eddie Howe more recently. Not taking anything away from your Steve Evans' and Mark Coopers but they'd shoot themselves in the foot somehow trying to get to the top with their mouth. Bit like Allardyce did in the end. Media will push Cowley all the way!

It's a bullish post, granted, but he is spot on about some points.

The whole ego thing is clearly a fabrication, him and his brother are two of the most humble people I've come across.

Like I said, no outlandish prediction from me, but I've got a feeling some posters on here are going to get a nasty shock regarding us, put it that way.

It's funny how Impish spend his whole time on here trying to get a reaction from Grimsby fans by spouting shit but then when he reads something he doesn't like about Lincoln and the Cowley's he spits his dummy out and cries like a baby.
Definitely a 14 year old who's balls have just dropped.

I'm not a journalist but GG is correct in what he's saying.

I knew Gowling had issues with past managers! Could Lincs fans care to elaborate on that because our fans seem to think he's an angel.

As Crazy says, Holdsworth called him out on his poor performances. From memory, Holdsworth came out with his legendary "If you deal with too many doughnuts, you end up with sticky fingers" line, which was taken as a dig at Gowling and others who were going through the motions here. I think Gowling was also a high earner he needed to get rid of (big budget cut mid-season).

He's left under a cloud everywhere he's been from Bournemouth in his early days, Carlisle and us. I think Kiddy is the only place he hasn't fallen out with anyone.

Tbh, the Cowleys' come across more like your Nigel Clough types as in they'll stick around in the lower leagues for a lot longer then many expect and try and get as high as they can with the club they're at, before finally moving. Might be wrong though.

Honestly lads, who is Danny Cowley?
The Brothers Cowley have had nothing but success since starting their managerial careers.
Last season non-league Lincoln in FA Cup will be long remembered.
Lincoln did the double over us even though we played well.
Lot of respect for the brothers. BUT and it is a big but, how will they handle managing a football league team or one that is less than successful.
I suspect they will continue to be successful and a BIG Championship/Premiership club will come in for them.

It's ok. Son of Cod has got his little cult of personality going on here, I know the score.

Another one who can't stop talking about us/our management team - it's fine, BT were at it all season last season, it's great that we're gaining new fans all the time.

Glad you do, because I have no idea what you mean here. It's not my fault that you lot are being overly sensitive about your precious little man.

It's looking like AP won't be doing that at Lincoln, has been offered a contract but supposedly a take it or leave it offer meaning it's not that important if he signs or not, a bit like Hawkridge. We have 3 players on the fringes like that and I don't expect any of them to stay.
