Shoutbox page is supposed to be like that, although I thought supporters were coded out. Let me double check.

The amazon you see below the threads should now be removed. We've been testing that today but it would only be for guests in future.

Yep they've gone. Still get a big advert on the right hand side of the main Forums page (see below)

As many of you know we are trying to ensure that any regular contributor to the forums only experiences minimal ads - or none at all if you happen to be a site supporter. The logic being that users are rewarded for regularly visiting the site- whilst the forums running costs are typically covered by guests & new members seeing advertisements to begin with, until they reach specific preset targets.

Below is a breakdown of the type of ads you can expect to see based on your usergroup.
In addition to the requirements for achieving an alternative usergroup.

New members or members with less than 50 posts - Moderate banner advertising throughout the site in addition to one "popin" ad every 24 hours from carefully selected third parties. (This will actually load within the page- so it won't cause additional windows to open on your machine, and it's easily closed without any misleading X's). If you'd like to avoid these ads, we have no issues with your downloading an Ad Blocker addon available for most browsers.

Regular members with more than 50 posts & 10 likes - Moderate banner advertising throughout the site, no popup ads whatsoever. If you'd like to avoid the banner ads, we have no issues with your downloading an Ad Blocker addon available for most browsers.

Site Supporters - No advertisements sitewide. Take advantage of this by becoming a site supporter here.

For any regular contributor of the forums these changes are good news and should result in you seeing less ads, and the website loading faster. These settings have been applied using Xenforo coding and they may not be watertight just yet- so if you find that whatever category you fall under does not seem to be matching of the adverts outlined above, please let us know in this thread and we can investigate further.

I've had a big advert for ASDA covering the screen. It took up more than the screen but I couldn't scroll anywhere to find the close button so had to navigate away and back again.

On Chrome for Android BTW.

TractorBoys I got a massive popup ad for ASDA again and it takes ages to get rid of it. It's almost rendering the site unusable for a long period for me (a bonus some may say). I've tried uploading a screenshot but it isn't playing ball (might be that the Internet I'm on is crap).

That's the one. I also edited my post, I wouldn't say anything if it rendered the wife unusable!

It's also completely unusable for me on my phone, for some reason there's no option to click off the ad.

Stupid fucking hen.

That ad shouldn't be appearing anymore. Thanks guys, I'm now a millionaire.

Not really, it honestly was a mistake.

I've had a very large car advert appear on the screen - however I am an SS...

Can you remember what page you were viewing? For example was it the forums index page, or whilst you were viewing a thread etc?

I'm a supporter but still get ads on the mobile site. Bug or as intended?

Can you take a screenshot or let me know exactly where they are appearing? As that shouldn't be happening.
