£10 for season ticket holders, £20 for everyone else. As I don't have a season ticket I'll be watching this on Sky and spending my £20 on beer and a takeaway.

6-1 to Everton.

We better take this seriously. 20 years without a trophy, and it hasnt helped that most that time, we pretty much chucked in games like this in this competition! If we go full strength and give it a go and beat, fine that happens. If we put out half a side or turn up like we've got some divine right to win the game a la Leeds 2012, its yet another shot at a trophy wasted.

Martinez's quotes in his presser today seems to suggest big changes...better not.

Oviedo will start at left back he's already said, with Galloway getting injured. Other than that, Id change the keeper, and put Mirallas, Deulofeu and maybe Besic in. Other than that, no wholesale changes please. If we turn up and leave out any of the likes of Stones, Jagielka, McCarthy and Lukaku, we're telling Barnsley straight away that we dont want to know.

Joel
Coleman--Stones--Jagielka--Oviedo
Cleverley--McCarthy--Barkley
Deulofeu--Lukaku--Mirallas

That side please.

Bizarre game. Im watching it on Sky Plus again now to see what I missed. First half involved some of the most gutless individual performances I think I've ever seen. It's ironic we had our first choice centre halves playing and they were among the worst players on the pitch in the first half. Besic was awful, Mirallas couldnt be arsed, and Aiden McGeady...oh my word...if he is a professional and international footballer, there is still hope for us all. The irony is, as bad as we were playing, first 20 minutes we dominated and missed a few chances. But Barnsley scored 2 quick goals and it started to look like one of our trademark gutless League Cup exits. The lot of them were deservedly booed off at half time, but the support at the start of the second half was brilliant. Two changes that absolutely needed to be made, Deulofeu finally given a good chunk of time to show what he can do, and Barkley. And my God did Deulofeu piss all over McGeady's 'contribution...' Ending the game with 3 assists, and a hand in another, if he doesnt start on Saturday, there is something seriously wrong. Mirallas volley was better than it looked at the time, and Naismith headed in the equaliser we deserved...only for us in true 'Everton That' style, to go 3-2 literally straight from the kick off. It was so ridiculous and predictable, I actually laughed, as did a few others. We were still making plenty of chances and there was loads of time left so I was still pretty confident of us getting an equaliser, a deflected cross was scrambled off the line, and Naismith and Barkley went close, but Lukaku scored to take it to extra time. Finally we took the lead, another Deulofeu cross causing chaos and deflecting in off a defender, only for us to then start making life hard for ourselves again! Barnsley forced a couple of good saves from Robles, and hit a shot against the bar. Thankfully though, Barkley led a break and put in Lukaku to at last make it safe.

8 goals, could have been double that! At last as well after 16 years, this was finally the first time Ive seen Everton come from 2 goals behind to win a game!
