Wonder how much you'd pay a month for the depth that the BBC provides (TV inc. live sport and highlights, radio, catch-up, news coverage included) if it was provided by Amazon, Sky or Netflix?

Feel this witch hunt over individuals' pay is a bit mental to be honest, given all major broadcasters from the major companies will be on astronomical £££.

Very little, otherwise it wouldn't be worth it.

Netflix is £8, Amazon is roughly the same, TV licence is £12 monthly.

All far cheaper and far more value for money than anything you can get from sky, and all provide original programmes and none require adverts in the middle of shows.

Quite happy with paying TV licence and the alternative of making the BBC commercial will cause me to watch it as much as ITV, zero.

Uruguay World Cups: 2 (plus a fourth placed finish 7 years ago)
Uruguay South American Championships: 15 (most recent 6 years ago)

Scotland World Cups: ahahahahaha
Scotland European Championships: ahahahahahahahahahahaha

We rest our case, your honour

So you know nothing at all about football before WW2? That's fine, nothing wrong with that.

Linekers comments on refugees is one of the few things he absolutely deserves credit for.

Uruguay won a World Cup and 7 intercontinental championships before WW2 (plus one during) :animatedf:
Scotland's only trophies are, what, against other British teams?

Yeh, totally. That's a surrender on my part. ffs. Of course you are humbling me. Whatever.
I liked the "have you ever met a refugee" bit. Different worlds. I met em, grew up with em and called em mates. Madness. Do refugee types not land in Herts then?

Correct. The Home Championship was international footballers premier tournament for decades and Scotland had a fantastic record in it.

The whole thing's just a ridiculously transparent political exercise. Compel the BBC to release salaries completely devoid of marketplace context. Cue lots of hand-wringing from the usual suspects in the printed press, who are no doubt paying their big names top, top whack. Very interesting that the gender pay gap, which a lot of those titles didn't even believe in a month ago, seems to have suddenly become the ISSUE DE JOUR too.

It's flawed, of course it is, but I think I'd miss the Beeb terribly if it was no longer there. I don't think we realise quite how lucky we are.

It's a corporation, so it would still be there, it would just be in the private sector. If it's worth the money then they'll have no problem turning it into a subscription service.
