Can't argue with Magnay, been outstanding all season. Can't understand how Gateshead let him go so easily.

Look at the size of Akinde in that picture!

His arms are bigger than my thighs I reckon...

All five are good picks IMO.
Magnay showed a lot of quality against us and the Grimsby defence as a whole didn't give us any opportunity to get back into the match.

He never lacked effort & never really let us down, but wasn't going to be first choice. Baxter is a better RB, Curtis & Clark are better CBs and whilst he did a job at left back it was a case of square peg in a round hole from an attacking perspective.

Sounds like he's kicked on for you though

Can understand the choices as they are clearly good players, but I haven't seen a midfielder better than our very own Stuart Sinclair so far this season.

Of course, I've seen Sincs play 30-odd times and the rest of the division once or twice at most, but I can only judge on what I have seen having been to every home and away game so far. There hasn't been one player who looked fitter, more tenacious or more influential in a game than he has most weeks for us.

Solid list from what I've seen, however it mentioning it being weaker brings us back to that point of whether or not it is just more equal. Of course there are gonna be more talents about when there are clubs like Fleetwood or Crawley or to lesser extents Luton or Mansfield chucking a bit more money about than usual. Marcus Maddison was conveniently omitted from that article when it was making its points about Gray, I noticed (well, at least I think it was - had to navigate a nightmare of pop ups on my phone). Kiddy are usually good for a player a season stepping up too, but without Burr gobbling up gems from below and being up shit creek financially that hasn't happened this season, unless I missed it.

I was at a wedding on our first day of the season when we played them and have not really seen a massive amount of Brizzle, but surely there must be a candidate in their back line too?

I could say exactly the same but swap the first name for his brother Rob. Maybe we could include both of them, though the Bristol version wins in the hairiness stakes.

Of the rest of the division, it is hard to argue against Akinde, that man would be a handful at least a division above and maybe more. I was impressed with the Barnet Centre-Halves when they played against us, one was Bondz N'Gala, he had a very good game. Other than those two I like Kevin Betsy from Woking, granted that he is getting towards the end of his career, but he still oozes quality.

Our defence has been very, very solid all season but they have gone about their business quietly and we (supporters) don't tend to talk about them too much as we don't need to. Tom Parkes is probably our best defender and he is still in his early 20s.

I have heard that Rob Sinclair was thought of highly by Salisbury and has continued to do well for FGR. I think it is fair to say the brothers have made a positive impact on their clubs and stand out because they aren't conventional-looking footballers.

Manny Smith should indeed still be playing League One football. The only fault the guy has is that he is too quiet, he's not a real leader. I'll eat my hat if he's here next season.

Completely agree. No idea why Notts County let him go!
