Big expectations here, although not a runaway win. We're on a good run and have got results in what on the face of were quite hard games. Bit of momentum going and Billy Paynter on fire which should last a good few months considering how fat he is.

I'm going 2-0.

We were unlucky against Stevenage overall but given Hartlepools start i'm expecting us to be on the end of a 3-1 scoreline

Injury time equalizer wasn't it? How's Butcher shaping up?

I hear you've got a Trust takeover going on. How's that looking?

Sorry mate, that turned into an interrogation didn't it? :err:

Just genuine curiousity.

Injury time equaliser indeed. Butcher isn't doing too badly on a shoestring budget, I have plenty of faith.

Trust takeover is in the pipeline. Old owner has pretty much got the old board to resign so it's only a matter of time really.

Good stuff. What's your view on this season? How do you think it'll pan out?

As long as we stay up i'm happy. It's a massive change in budget and in staff so for me this season has to be about staying in the league anything else is a bonus.
Understood mate. Good luck.

We were there last season and got massively lucky.

I can't see us not winning this one , I think we have to get as many points as we can this month , September's looking dodgy

We need the freezing wind off the north sea just so the journos can fill their tick list.

Yeah, it took a League 1 team to keep us down to one. We've got four potential scorers in the team now compared to last seasons.....errrrr.......two, if one was fit. Which for most of the time he wasn't. :ffs:

I've been trawling through message boards for a few weeks trying to get a feel of things as it were , and in my opinion , Newport will be one of the poorer teams to visit us , we need to be winning these games

I read that they've got a wunderkind 17 year old striker who's getting big attention from higher league teams so we'll need to keep an eye out for him, but the way Magnay is playing by all accounts we should be able to keep him quiet.

Can't get complacent though. Young 'uns will run all night.

Agreed. If we keep the ball we'll win it.

I still think it'll be harder than we think though. Butcher is no mug.

You had 2 guesses !! I thought it would be easier ... anyhoo , a fantastic start , Stevenage and Carlisle look like points waiting to happen ... I don't like the look of September

But first guess counts!! I think we will be back around mid-table come the end of September. It's only early doors but I'll enjoy it while it lasts!
