Console yourself with trips to the likes of Wigan, Blackpool, Bury, Burton and Shrewsbury next year mush, i haven't been to the latter two myself.

Only southend that could be a possibility of a new ground for me. Very northern league next year which is good for us but lost notts and orient which is wank

FWIW United dominated the early exchanges and should have had a penalty at 0-0, Freemans goal woke Swindon up and Byrne in particular was a menace down the United left.

Howard denied them from the spot and United should have taken full advantage but failed to really test Fotheringham.

The injury to Brayford cost United, it meant changing an already disrupted back four and Basham who had been doing a screening job was replaced in the middle by the impish Scougall.

United never look at it in the early exchanges of the second half and much like Sunday conceded early into the period.

The game then opened up and perhaps United were hard done to by the Done incident, from watching it on tv I called foul straight away but perhaps i'm a tad biased. The Davies miss was inexcusable, from that range.

The referee then infuriated you lot with his decision on the booking/Done through ball, hard one to call, the ball was 40 yards ahead of him as he'd whistled, perhaps he should have let it go on.

Howard then undid all his hardwork with that Byrne goal, though you'd question how he'd be given that space at that time of the game.

Still think the Blades lot can get a result down there mind, like they did at Bristol City.

You have pretty much covered everything i was going to put.

All i will add is that i hope we find another keeper because Howard is poor, yes he saved the pen but all season long he has been garbage ! he can't save a long shot to save his life or any shot really, must be one of worst shot stoppers i have seen at any level of the game and he must have one brilliant agent to have made it to league one level.

Hope Clough gives someone else a chance in goal on Monday night, i will remain positive because we are capable of getting a result at Swindon.

Roll on monday.

Surely you have to start Done on Monday? The guy caused all sorts of problems when he came on.. Thought Swindon dominated large parts of the game but didn't really create too much. Kasim and Byrne were class last night I thought.

I agree Done has to start and be good if Clough starts McNulty also as he played well and scored a good goal against Chesterfield so was surprised he was not even brought on in second half.

What a result for Swindon, I expect that will give them a real buzz for the second leg now. Dem Blades are staring down the barrel of a 5th season in League One, Clough got it wrong last night with moving Basham into defence and bringing Scougall on, bizarre. A really big ask for United now, but they are better on the road than at home, and have beaten Bristol City at Ashton Gate this season.

When I saw Matt Done come on for the Blades I was simply confused why he hadnt started, one of the best players in the League imo, tore us apart at Ashton Gate.
Also what the demise of Steven Davies is a shock, he was one bright light in our relegation season in 12/13 he looked a shadow of his former self.
Tie still in the balance for me, depends on how Swindon handle the pressure of big game at home again.

I doubt matt done will start. Clough is a bellend who doesn't like playing players that are actually pretty good. And instead of just blaming the referee the other night he wants to look at his own mistakes. He had obviously got them up for it as we started very well but why everytime we take a lead do we just stop attacking surely thats come from him. Also bringing scougall on instead of doyle was just embarrassing looks like hes had a bit of a fall out with doyle as all of a sudden he doesnt get a game no more. So once again instead of thinking about the team he acts like a stubborn child once again and knowingly makes a substitution which he must know isn't the best option at the time. Whatever happens on monday he will just carry on blaming the ref from last thursday.

By the way we have never won the away leg in our 6 previous attempts in the playoffs. I hope to fucking god that changes on monday

i noticed in your local paper Clough seems to be trying to play mind games around the fact we were 'celebrating as if we were already at Wembley.

I didn't think that was the case at all personally, even given the euphoria of a last minute winner in front of the away fans.

He does come over a bit desperate.

Oh God, did you have to mention us celebrating.

You know what's going to happen next.

Cue City fans!

Anyway, it was nowhere near the Boro celebrations with their last minute goal at Brentford

The man's a fucking idiot. If we fail to go up im willing to see how we start next year but if he isn't more positive and doesn't stop being a stubborn twat he won't last too long. The fans will get pissed off eventually.

Well, that was for winning a game against the unbeaten league leaders and getting 3 points.

Bramall Lane wins us nothing at the moment

I know it's been mentioned before, the team do a lap of honour EVERY game, so there was nothing special about beating you.

So they bang on opposition dressing room doors when they scrape a win EVERY time too? No wonder you're so well-liked.

No, lets not because we got our revenge by stuffing you 3-0 and won the league.

Yep. You got 3 points, we got 3 points.

The only problem was that you got another 90-odd!
