Well with Derby and Boro in Cup action this weekend, the focus of the automatic battle stays at Dean Court as we take on Huddersfield. Huddersfield will be out for revenge from the first day of the season. This also brings back League One playoff memories.

Huddersfield are likely one of the few sides in the division with little to play for from here on in, no trouble for relegation and unlikely to get near the playoffs. They seem vastly inconsistent flitting from wins to defeats one week to the next. Perhaps it depends which Huddersfield side turns up? It looked like they had quite a turnover of players in January, and Ishmael Miller might be one to watch.

Wonder if we'll see anything of Tommy Smith, back in training now after that scare being taken to hospital in a helicopter?

For our part, we played out a frenetic and highly stressful evening with Derby on Tuesday, with both sides leaving content with a point. I'm certain that will have taken some toll on the side given the effort they all put in. Perhaps we'll see one or two changes to the lineup? Kermorgant and Wilson up front together are in great form currently, hopefully that will continue. At the back however we looked suspect with Derby's high pressing line pinning our back 4. It's something that most sides have started to do against us, but it must be said that Derby did a particularly good job of it.

Another big game..

A lot of sides have started pressing our defence with very high lines as well, something we've struggled with since Christmas, main reason for our drop in form (especially at home!)

WLWLWLWL...shall not continue. We're not good enough to get anything here, and if Lynch is still out then our defence looks awful.

Tough one to call- it's one that we'll feel like we should win, especially with Brentford next week, if Huddersfield have done their homework then they can replicate the Norwich/Derby blueprint and press us high, make us uncomfortable and force errors, Darren Bent worked that first goal for Derby on Tuesday by harassing Steve Cook into an error, something that he is prone to do.

I can see us raising our game again ahead of the big one next week, as we did with Wigan a fortnight ago. Can't see there being more than a goal in it, and a nervvy ending, but think we have enough to secure a tight 1-0.

I'll be shocked if you only score 1. Our results away at the top sides so far have been 2-4 Watford, 0-5 Norwich, 2-3 Derby, 2-2 Ipswich and 0-2 Middlesbrough. I've not checked but I think after midweek we've probably conceded the most goals in the league.

After your result mid-week do you expect some sort of reaction though? Rare to see teams ship 3/4+ goals in back-back games

Well we got complacent, totally under control but unable to break them down for the second, too slow. Hudds nick the equaliser on the break and we're screwed.

Players angry, support frustrated. Two world class saves from Smithies and two corners that there scrambled off the line, no idea how we contrived to miss them.

Let's all hope we can take advantage of this at Rotherham!

A strange game- Huddersfield were the most defensive team to come to DC this year, they were really well drilled, organised and compact. It meant they lacked creativity and numbers going forward but the gameplan was to let us keep the ball, but overrun us when we enter the final third and stop us turning the possession into chances; the succeeded at that, nearly 70% of the ball but we didn't create all to much, we actually looked most dangerous from set pieces rather than our cutting passing. I think we really missed Francis as another option, his crossing and overlaps of Ritchie could have just stretched the play a bit more.

So we went on probing and it looked more and more inevitable that Huddersfield would break and score with their first genuine chance of the game, and of course they did which left us a bit dumbfounded, we probably should have scored from one of the many goalmouth scrambles but it just wouldn't go through the sea of bodies. It's looking like we'll pick up more points on the road than at home for the rest of the season, Wilson needs the game to be a bit more open to thrive otherwise he is just marked out the game by bigger, stronger opponents.

Frsutrating but the not the end of the world like some of our ridiculous fans are making out, credit to Huddersfield they just made it so, so frustrating for us. Hopefully we can capitalise on Brentfords poor run next week in a more open game. Losing Arter on top of Gosling & O'Kane is a concern and it's looking like we'll bring a midfielder in before then.

There's going to be surprises and turns before the season ends. Just got to keep ticking along as best we can, get this particularly hard month out the way and see where we are.

We've had that at home for the past year. Almost every team comes to Pride Park, and parks the bus looking for a 0-0 draw. Getting an early goal and forcing them to change their tactics has been the key, otherwise the game gets frustrating.

We got a relatively early goal... But Huddersfield didn't change anything, they stayed just as compact and defensive as they were; they did it very well we rarely broke them down but it was so frustrating to watch from our POV. Can only blame ourselves for letting them score with one clear chance all game.
