Wonder if Fleetwood's support today will exceed that of Crawley at our place the other night?

Probably just about.

Sounds like Fleetwood started on the front foot. After about twenty minutes it's been a bit more end-to-end with City slightly edging it, sounds like we've looked a threat from set pieces.

Neither side taking their chances, going to be a frustrating 0-0.

No link or carry between midfield and attack, no-one is driving at theit defenders through the middle, JET and Freeman have been dearly missed.

What a bizarre half.

Fleetwoods swarm of wasps in yellow dominated the first 20 minutes, made us look like the Gas. Since then we've done everything except score with Flint being particularly wasteful.

All with the backdrop of the Gavin Ward show, he definitely has little man syndrome. I want Flint or Smith to put one on him, fussy, arrogant bellend.

Started off very flat, none of the midfield seemed to know what their roles were while Fleetwood pressed us well and we were lucky to get to the half hour still level. But towards the end of the half we've got a grip of the game, every set piece is creating havoc in their box and we should really have scored, Agard hitting the bar, Flint's effort cleared off the line and several chances dragged wide from close range.

Fleetwood using every tactic in the book, timewasting, breaking up play, as is to be expected. Helped by possibly the weakest ref I've ever seen - there was one laughable moment when he was pacing out a free kick, walked a good 2 yards beyond the Fleetwood player who just stood there, as if to say "What are you going to do about it", and the ref just hunched his shoulders and stormed off!

Get the feeling this'll be a real slog from here on in, hopefully we'll find a way to win a la Crawley

Just by the sounds, looks like Freeman is being missed dearly.

Sounds like a good job of remaining focused and getting the result. Wasn't our best performance but a professional job done, nonetheless. Hopefully we're saving our best performance for at MK next week. JET and Freeman will now be a bit more refreshed after a rest on the bench today, and a week between today and the next game. Credit to Cotterill, I was worried when seeing the teamsheet but it could turn out to be a very wise decision.

COYR.

Just going by the stats looks like we had the better of the second half.

Job done tbh. We looked a little jaded at times and really missed LF and JET until they came on.
Very fussy ref who seemed to want to be centre stage which was annoying at times.
On to MK with a nicely rested team.
Happy days!

Worth pointing out that it's another clean sheet and our third in a row. :D

Sounded like Bristol neutralised the threat from Nick Haughton and took control

:woo:Fleetwood very impressive in first 20, we didn't get out of the blocks atall. All one way traffic after that though, thought it was gonna be one of those days at one stage with all the chances that were going begging.

It was Gavin (it's all about me) Ward. He's terminally useless.

Well in the end we got the early goal after the break and it was all rather comfortable.

Not exactly a thriller but we found a way to win - that's why we're top of the league :)

Unspectacular but solid.

Fleetwood caused us problems in the first 20, and we took far too long to get going, but once we got going, it was a fairly solid performance.

As someone else previously referred to, no goal conceded in 3 games, JET and Freeman rested, Agard back fit again, and big Matty Smith on the scoresheet yet again.

Back on top of the pile, with a huge game next week.

Bring it on.

I think that's spot on CH96. The cup games obviously had an effect on our boys today but we found a way. City sides, in recent history, wouldn't have won today but this lot did and all credit to them.
I do worry that, due to his sheer size, we become a little predictable with Smith up front and no LF / JET and the first half was an example of that. We were jaded, certainly, but a tad too direct at times in the first 45 IMHO.
Any news on Wilbs as KA is obviously going to need a game or 2 to get his sharpness back?

Regarding the referee also, piss poor.

Had no control on the game whatsoever, and was just as bad for both sides.

I enjoyed that, Fleetwood were no mugs and gave us a game without creating anything after their initial impressive flurry.

We haven't created much through the middle for a few games and that continued today, perhaps because Smith isn't that kind of striker. However, Freeman did well to set up JET for the break away second goal. The latter doesn't miss those.

Saville looked poorer than last week, too many cooks in the middle for the first twenty. Glad Agard is getting his fitness back but he's gotta be benched next week. Little had one of his better games and Flint could have had a hat-trick.

Bring on MK.

PS Jordan get down the Gate FFS instead of commenting from afar. :)
