It's a bit tinpot just to report that there WON'T be a live game on the opening weekend, good though that news is for me. It surely can't be that difficult to agree and publish a schedule of televised games for the first couple of months.

Don't worry, you'll get used to being in this league soon.:lol:

So no live games on the first weekend but surely they should be able to announce the first 4 weeks or so of games that are to be shown???

Fans need to make travel arrangements but as usual, even at this lowly level, the fans dont seem to matter to the powers that be

Return train ticket up to Tranmere for us is £89. 89 fucking quid. We could have got a return ticket last week for around £56 I believe it was, but held off because of the chance of it being on TV

There was no way Rovers were going to accept £ 6000 for a televised match when we would probably lose twice that much in lost gate receipts etc. I believe both clubs have to agree to the TV deal and I am pretty certain which one, of not both of them, turned it down....if it was ever offered in the first place.

As for Cole Stockton, to be honest I think the lad has some talent but he has to be the laziest footballer I have ever seen and considering the idle, couldn`t care less, performances I had the misfortune to witness last season especially from February onwards, from virtually every player in a Tranmere shirt, that takes some saying. I am just hoping Brabin knocks some sense into the kid but judging by what has been said about his performance in the first friendly it hasn`t worked so far

I'm fairly sure you can't refuse, they have a contract with the league.

That's partly why we were only on once last season, though judging by that game, probably a good thing! Hopefully the optimism at Sincil Bank this last few weeks will carry on throughout and on into the season.

Actually, it's not Lincoln who refuse live games, it's Luke Imp as he's got to move to another part of San Sincil when the cameras roll into town.

6k is 300 supporters at 20 quid a head you would be mad to accept an offer like that, typical bt exploiting the public since privatisation

I'm guessing no games have been announced at all then?
We turned games I believe due the board thinking we would lose money.

The exposure is what counts for clubs like us, sponsors would throw a shit fit if we turned down an opportunity for national exposure.

Barrow-Eastleigh, Lincoln-Wrexham or Macc-Woking would be the sensible choices for the 5th imo.

So it won't be any of those.

What a ground for BT to show off on TV.... Christ Welling is a dump.

I can see why BT have gone for Welling vs Tranmere - its only 4 weeks into the season and with Wellings ground being as bad as it is there is always a chance of an upset.

A la Altrincham v Bristol Rovers last season?

Looking at Tranmere early fixtures Alty could well do it again!

Which puzzles me more why this one has been picked not to mention welling v altrincham on sunday last season, hardly two teams near top. I guess if it was a club like welling in north east there home game would not get shown

Its been chosen because it's Cheltenham and they have just been relegated, not because it's Welling.
