Yep Burnley fully deserved the win today, by far. It was us that looked the 'inferior' side.

Really missed Mane today. Him starting doesn't mean we automatically win the game but I don't think Sturridge looked anywhere as near as sharp as he can be and Firmino was quite poor. We can't expect Coutinho to have a man of the match performance every game, and he tends to save his best performances for Anfield anyway even though he did have a great game at the Emirates.

I was hoping this season Coutinho would step up and become the Eden Hazard of two seasons back. Instead, today he played like the Eden Hazard of last season! Same old story, trying to do too much, woeful passing and trying to score worldies when they aren't on.

I said somewhere else I hope we don't become too reliant on Mane (as we have been with Sturridge in the past), and that hopefully we could cope without him when he's unavailable; but already it looks as if when he's not there, we play shite. Firmino plays because he presses better than anyone upfront, and anything else you get out of him is a bonus, but Sturridge didn't look sharp yet either. Hopefully its all just a blip and we can get back on track next week. The worrying thing is though that we had a week to prepare and looked a shambles. Hopefully get a big win against Burton through the week to kick on again.

That defense though... :ffs:

Many poor performances today. Firmino anonymous, Coutinho greedy, Henderson woeful and Sturridge was too deep.

Same old really. As I said earlier, well dominate but not really create anything. 81% possession and nothing to show for it. Going forward we were awful compared to last week.

Well that was horrible and as bad as under Rodgers at our worst. The game reminded me of that infamous game when United had like a thousand crosses in one game. It was quite obvious our plan was to try to play down the middle, but at the first sign of difficulty play it out to our wing back or Milner. It didn't work in the first half and it didn't work in the second.

So going forward we were terrible. But we controlled the game fairly well and we really shouldn't have conceded twice. The first was a screamer, the second was a series of unlucky bounces but when Klavan goes up to break up play like he did, he has to win the ball. He didn't and that's when we lost the game.

Still, we could have played for another hour and we still wouldn't have scored. So all in all Burnley deserved the win. Nothing ever changes for us it seems, which is funny. Us beating the big clubs but failing against the lesser sides has been a pattern since the 90's. Here's to another twenty years of that.

The day Liverpool fans accepted Jordan Henderson as a player and captain is when you conceded being a big club.

Rodgers got his tactics all wrong and Skrtel is a fucking liability.

Haven't had much chance to post recently, but I couldn't let this thread go by without gloating at least once.
