I can't stand this kind of music usually but The Ergs! are kind of pigeon-holed into this genre (though they are much more interesting in truth) and I bloody love them...

There are some godawful albums on that list, Dave. Of those, I would say these are the ones that people need to listen to...

Enema of the State - SEMINAL
Through Being Cool - Arguably the best pop punk album of all time ever
Bleed American - again, SEMINAL
40 Hour Train Back to Penn - Fucking unreal album
Mutiny - Solid with a smattering of anthems

These are the ones that are okay...

Suburbia I've...
Last Stop Suburbia
Say It Like You Mean It
...is a Real Boy
24 Hour Revenge Theory
Punk in Drublic
Americana
...and Out Come the Wolves
Sticks and Stones
Take This To Your Grave
Jersey's Best Dancers
Milo Goes to College
Your Favorite Weapon
Dude Ranch
Dookie

Some of them are distinctly average.

However, these have no place whatsoever on such a list...

The All American Rejects
So Wrong, It's Right
The Art of Losing
Drunk Enough to Dance
Ocean Avenue...fucking really? BOWLING FOR SOUP AND YELLOWCARD NARROWLY BEHIND THE MOVIELIFE? FUCK THAT.
Crimson...CRIMSON. JESUS. How?! Alkaline Trio have made two of the best pop punk albums ever and Crimson is on this list?
All We Know is Falling
The Young and the Hopeless...SERIOUSLY?
All Killer, No Filler - SHIT

Bowling For Soup are awesome! Such a good live show, too.

All Time Low pre So Wrong was good. Coffee Shop Sountrack, The Party Scene and That Girls A Straight Up Hustler were anthems of my mid teens.

I stand by my claim that TakeThis To Your Grave is one of the best albums of this genre. Lyrically it is THE best.

I'm stretching that definition of pop punk from the get go! The punk rock thread is full of 70s/80s stuff and we've got history so it's going in here!

Anybody who likes/has liked Punk, should really take a listen to these guys. 3 albums to date with a new release coming out in April.

This track is from their album "Legends" and is pure pop-punk, which is why I've put it into this thread.

That goes for most of their tunes.

Plenty of stuff on Youtube.....trust me, you won't regret it. I discovered them about 4 months ago and I've barely listened to anything other than their music since!

(Just ignore what they look like!)

The guy is so strange. Look at him 15 years ago and you just can't recognise him. I do feel a bit sorry for him though, he'll be hated by most of Blinks fan's now.

Did you read The Rolling Stone interview with Travis and Mark? It's weird that they all communicate through a variety of PR/marketing/managers/agents and that they all seemingly have separate ones.

Neck Deep.

A Part of Me is such a good acoustic song!

Most of their songs are fairly average I think. They all seem to be missing that pop-punk 'hook'. Losing Teeth and A Part of Me are the only ones I like.

Their second album is all done and recorded and set to be released soon so it'll be interesting how that sounds. Can see what you mean though.

I would definitely give it a listen as they've got huge potential.

Just saw the 2nd album has been produced by the singer from A Day To Remember. Makes me want to listen to it more.

Would go just for Knuckle Puck. Sadly, I'm 25 with 2 kids so my crowd surfing and singing along at the front days are definitely over.

Finally listened to that State Chanps album. It's pretty good. Elevated and Deadly Conversation are the highlights. A lot of it reminds me of 'Drive Thru Records' era pop punk. Elevated sounds very similar to Scratch by Allister. Still, very enjoyable.

I've been spinning Trash Boat a bit over the last few days after I saw they'd signed to Hopeless Records. Song below is their latest release.

That State Champs album is the best stuff I've heard in years imo. Takes me back to my youth :)
