So another round of the Champions league gets underway this evening, it's starting to become quite spicy now. A few tantalising games this week!

CSKA Moscow vs Man City
Chelsea vs NK Maribor
Liverpool vs Real Madrid
Anderlecht vs Arsenal

They are the English games in this round of the tournament.

Looking forward to Liverpool vs Madrid, but I expect they will lose. I think both Arsenal and City would take a point but have a reasonable chance of winning the games.

“The manager has killed me with this decision. I feel I deserve my place and other people have told me the same. People have told me I am a great player but it is clear that the manager does not think the same way.

“I am very disappointed, even now. I don’t think it was a good decision or the right decision.

“I know that I deserve to be on the list. I told the manager this but he did not want to listen to me. I came here to play in the Champions League.”

"I have not made any decision about my future,” he said. “I will wait until the summer, then we will see.

“But the manager has put other players ahead of me, so maybe this is a message about what he wants to do."

Ouch, that's him gone in Summer.

Laurent Blanc confirms that Cabaye, Aurier and Lucas will definitely miss tomorrow's game.
Decision on Motta, Matuidi, Pastore and Marquinhos to be taken later today.

Bayern drew in Ukraine 0-0. Anyone bothered to watch that?

Good result for Chelsea but disgraceful behaviour from a minority of their so called fans on the train in Paris

Wellenreuther had a good game yesterday for an 19 years old goalie see no reasons to drop him when our number one and two are back.

Indeed. Was also impressed by Platte who was very bold for the second official match of his career. Schalke look like they have a good academy.

What a goal by Marcelo though.

Aye Marcelo's goal was a peach. He's the type of player that's either gash or great - never just average.

Juve - BVB will be the better match this afternoon, I suspect. BVB finally hitting form. Their intensity is something the Serie A giants aren't used to—big test for Vidal and Pogba. Very pleased with Klopp's selection apart from Immobile. He's not great and BVB desperately need a striker. Wouldn't have minded Auba as the CF and Kuba/Kagawa in for Immobile.

1-1 would be an excellent result and I think that's what we'll see.

Narrow win for Juve for me. Should be a decent match tho.

Hummels has some brilliant moments in this match thus far. Not thrilled Piszczek has gone off injured. Ginter is a marked downgrade at RB. Forutnately Juve don't play with much width.

Pirlo now forced to withdraw. Handsomeness factor now dependent upon Mats Hummels.

2-1 to Juve at half-time. Dortmund's defence is the reason why they lost 11 league games this season. Juve have barely attacked yet scored two goals. Weidenfeller spilled a Morata cross which fell kindly to Tevez while the 2nd was a simple pass by Pogba. They shouldn't be conceding goals like that at this stage of the competition.
It's a shame really as Dortmund have been the better side (of what I've seen at least, fucking dodgy stream made me miss 10 minutes). Had more of the ball and looked to build chances from the back. They won't progress though if they don't sort out this defence. I don't think they will tbh, Ginter isn't good enough for CL football. He gets torn apart in the Bundesliga every weekend this season.

Still entertaining stuff.

Fantastic first half, shame Dortmund's two inept moments of defending have resulted in two Juve goals. Immobile is good at laying the ball off but Dortmund could really do with someone looking to get in behind Bonucci and Chiellini who haven't looked the most comfortable.

Marco Reus is classy, makes everything look effortless.

Weidenfeller and Schmelzer are certainly the culprits.

A significantly more entertaining half than what was on offer in Manchester, I'm sure. If it ends 2-1, I still fancy BVB with a good chance to progress. Serie A frauds aren't on the same level as the elite teams in Europe.

Tbf to Juve, they only conceded because of a slip, looked good defensively from what I saw

Finished 2-1 to Juve. Shit second half with almost nothing happening. Still we have a tie on our hands for the return.

Goalless at Leverkusen at half-time.
Drab first half hour with only a long-range shot by Spahic to write about. Atletico looked poor really. Didn't do much in the middle of the park and were looking the weaker side for a long time. However, Simeone has already been forced to make two substitutions. They did wake up in the last 15 minutes with Leno pulling off two good saves. Shame that half-time came up as it was heating up...

Finished 1-0 to Leverkusen, Calhanoglu with the goal. Dour second half. Godin and Tiago to miss the 2nd leg. Atletico were shit. Was hoping more from them.

Once they get back to the Calderon they'll be buzzing once again, that tie is far from finished.

The way it's going it's only a matter of time before Schalke make this tie level.

Madrid look shit, none of their midfielders are tracking back at all which is causing their defence all sorts of problems. Schalke could well have had two or three by now.
