Charlton played out a 0-0 draw at the Valley on Saturday against a less than impressive Middlesbrough. Middlesbrough came into the game after a fantastic effort against Liverpool, however Charlton looked like they had the morale. They started with a 4-5-1, with bulot in the middle and cousins at left wing. Vetokele was up front.

After a fairly boring first half against which saw Boro captain Friend hit the post, the game sprang into life. Firstly it was Andre Bikey to make controversy. A ball cleared down the line was chased down by Bamford. Bikey managed to get in front and from my view elbowed Bamford in the face. Whether it was intentional or not was hard to tell, but that fact didn't bother the Boro bench, who lept from their seats and hounded the referees assistant. Luckily for Bikey, he hadn't seen it, and he managed to get away with it with the ball being kicked back to Henderson in the Charlton goal. The Middlesbrough fans were furious, and booed Bikey's every touch after that. Much to their annoyance, they were met with cheers from the Charlton fans. Bikey is quickly becoming a fans favourite at the Valley.

Then it was the turn of Adomah to make headlines. A fifty fifty challenge was commited on Wiggins, however the studs were to high, and caught Wiggins on the shin. In the confusion however, the referee blew and pointed for a Boro free-kick. Realising his mistake, he quickly re awarded the free kick in Charlton's favour and gave Adomah his second yellow card of the game.

After that Charlton were more forceful and looked the most likely team to score. Vetokele passed to substitute Wilson who could only shoot at the goal keeper. A few minutes later the ball was stopped on the goal line by a covering defender. However much the players tried, Boro held on for a decent point considering their performance.

All in all a fantastic 0-0 game. Charlton maybe could've got all three points but will be happy that they with Forest are the only unbeaten teams in the division. That might change with a tough away game at Norwich tomorrow...
