Charlton Athletic vs Wolves

Charlton go into to the game high on confidence and self- belief. After what can only be described as a lucky win against Watford at the weekend, Charlton continued their unbeaten start with neither fans nor manager wanting to give it up now. An 100% home record in league and cup shows Wolves will have to be at their best tonight. Teams such as Watford, Derby and Wigan have all failed to gain a point at the Valley.

However Wolves will be feeling confident. A poor draw against lowly Blackpool has been the only negative of a great start by Jackett's men. 13 points out of a possible 18 is a fantastic return for a side which steam rolled League 1 last year. Players such as MacDonald and Sako provide real quality in midfield, however I fail to see Dicko being effective up front when he has Ben Haim and Bikey (The beast) to contend with. Watford play with a 4-2-3-1, so Peeters might have to compensate for the extra man in midfield.

So how will Charlton line up? The team has been practically unchanged all year, with Henderson, Solly, Ben Haim, Bikey, Wiggins in the back. Sako might be up against Solly tonight, which would mean the likable full back would have to be on his game. However if he doesn't play, he will most likely be replaced by young starlet Joe Gomez. A difficult game for him if picked.

Joe was picked for the England U19 team recently, despite the fact he's only 17. Spurs and Liverpool were reportedly interested on deadline day, but no bid was ever made. Hopefully he will earn a spot at right back tonight. In the midfield Yohan Berg Gudmundsson is injured, so will most likely be replaced by Laurie Wilson who had a good game on Saturday. Buyens, Jackson will start in the center, with new signing Bulot maybe playing on the left. If not, Cousins will fill in.

Up front inform Vetokele picks himself. However, Peeters might want to play Moussa off him rather than Tucudean alongside him. Both have made rather iffy starts to their Charlton careers, although there is no doubt both have talent.

In conclusion I think that Charlton will drop points, but they will still be unbeaten. 1-1

Nice preview! I think this will be a tough game for both sides if I'm honest. Wolves are a solid team with aspirations of a top half finish and Charlton have started the season well, but everyone is casting that 'will it last' kind of tag over them at the moment. Don't expect many goals here.

Maybe a candidate for 0-0.
