In no particular order, off the top of my head: Mark Peters, Andy Duncan, Josh Coulson, Liam Hughes, Courtney Pitt, John Taylor, Lionel Perez, David Preece, Dion Dublin, Danny O'Shea, Steve Butler, Martin Butler. Few more probably missed.
Sandy Pate - Played long before my time but heard all about how good he was. Played over 300+ consecutive games for us and probably apart of our greatest ever team. Everytime I see him in the bar he comes over and makes the effort to talk and once he does you can't shut him up and some of the stories are brilliant. Top guy.
Adam Murray - Made his debut in the first game I ever went too and despite not being from Mansfield seems to have fell in love with the club and has always gave his all. Massive help in getting us up in 2002. I was in the exec lounge after York beat us in the Play offs in the Conference, He was in tears and promised that we'd go up the year after. We did!
Matt Green - Without his goals we'd still be stuck in the Conference, to have someone score as many as he did in 2 seasons was always going to make him a fans favourite.
Liam Lawrence - Different class. Product of the Youth team and has gone on to much better things. Might have been a cock with his penalty in Cardiff but his header in the 93rd minute at Saltergate a year earlier saves him.
Wayne Corden - Used to be a regular thing him cutting inside on his right foot and picking out the top corner from 25 yards.
Special mentions for Richie Barker, Bobby Hassell and Calvin Andrew too!
Tony Roberts, Paul Benson and Jon Nurse are the three that standout for me - I think most supporters that have watched L2 or Conference football in the last 15 years would have a certain level of respect for Robbo as well, he's always been good for a laugh!
Oh and Peter Gain - he embodied everything it was to be a 'Dagger' in Still's time here. Wish we had a few more like that these days.
Geoff Bradford The only player in my supporting lifetime to play for Rovers and win an England cap.
Stuart Taylor Played over 500 games in a wonderful Rovers career
Harold Jarman Best ever winger
Bert Tann Longest serving manager
Bob Dolan Organised defence of the Tote End
1. Matt Lockwood
2. Dean Smith
3. John Mackie (not really for being a stellar centre half mind)
4. Gary Alexander
5. Kevin Lisbie
6. Dean Cox
7. Jabo Ibehre, just for the Carlisle guys. And that I love him.
I lied about the 5.
Although my personal favourite players are Sean Thornton and Tamika Mkandawire. Thornton had all the ability in the world, could single handedly win the game on his own, but was let down by his lifestyle. Tam was the perfect centre half, athletic, read the play superbly, excellent on the ball; player of the season with Millwall in the Championship when he moved on before getting a serious injury.
