Mellberg at rightback is cheating a little! Not that we've really had any notable right backs, best I can think of in my time following the club would be Delaney... So, mine in the time I've been watching us:

Friedel
Delaney Mellberg Laursen Bouma (could well be replaced by Amavi at this rate)
Downing Milner Barry Young
Carew Benteke

Players in my time and who I have seen. Not easy, and some positions could be changed easily.

---------------- Grob
Nicol -- Hansen -- Hyypia -- Kennedy
-- Souness -- Gerrard -- Barnes
--------- Dalglish -- Suarez
---------------- Rush

To be honest, I took it as a 'best player you have seen in each position' thread, rather than legends. In which case, as much as I love Fowler, Rush would be ahead of him.

What a set of money grabbing wankers you've got in that midfield!

I know Mellberg is cheating a bit but he did play there and quite well, I just love him and wanted to squeeze him in!
Got to be spink in goal mate!

Never saw him play, I rate it on who I've seen in my time watching the club or obviously Spink/Rimmer, Withe, and McGrath would be in there!

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.

Depends what makes a legend. Is it the 'best', 'most important' or 'best at their peak? My City legends mainly come from the late 90s and the last five years.

Can I put Paul Dickov up front alongside Aguero? Three up front with Shaun Goater? Can I put Nick Weaver in nets?

Andy Morrison alongside Vincent Kompany at the back? Zabaletta at right back ,but is Stuart Pearce OK on the left? (So do we really need George Weah in consideration for the strikers?

Midfield of Silva - Horlock - Toure - Kinkladze?

Ok, here goes.

Aguero - As if I need a reason.
Goater - One of two players who got City back into the PL in 2000
Silva - As if I need a reason.
Horlock - Got the equaliser against Gillingham at Wembley and was once sent off for 'aggressive walking'
Toure - As if I need a reason.
Kinkladze - A shining light during the absolute darkest days. Met him in Tesco in Handforth Dean once.
Pearce - Stuart fucking Pearce, man. come on.
Kompany - As if I need a reason.
Morrison - The signing that was the catalyst for the 1998/99 turnaround and play-off win.
Zabaletta - As if I need a reason.
Weaver - During the 99/00 season, City were called a one-man team. (They were at least a two man team with The Goat)

Subs

Hart, Dickov, Anelka, Dzeko, Bernabia
