Until last night, I would've looked at this as a 'should' win, but Colchester had an excellent win at Sheffield United and apparently played pretty well, and Marvin Sordell looks like a shrewd acquisition. We don't seem to have the greatest record against them over the years but if we're to get the better of them then surely we can this season.

Hard to know what 11 will be out, as Oshilaja, Garmston, Osadebe, Houghton, Aaron Morris and either Williamson or Donnelly could well come in from last week's slightly flat display. If all the above were fit and available, I'd go:

Nelson
Jackson - Egan - Oshilaja - Dickenson
Wright
Houghton - Loft
Dack
Donnelly - Norris

G.Morris, Ehmer, A. Morris, Osadebe, McDonald, Williamson and Garmston/McGlashan.

1250 Gills and a 3-1 win. Maybe.

Like joe I was more confident yesterday but after colchesters win at sheff utd think they will be well up for this.

Not t sure if their win last night is a blessing in disguise as now they have won their first game this season the monkey is off their back.

As above if all players are fit I would go with that team except I would leave McDonald in place of Donnelly as we all know what he do can given the chance

Both the top 2 will lose this weekend IMO. Colchester in form and scoring goals, Posh with new manager syndrome after a 5-1 away win.

I knew Colchester scored a few and conceded a few but I didn't realise quite how many!

Their last five games have been:
3-2
3-3
2-3
2-2
0-4

Don't reckon this will be 0-0.

Colchester are coming off the back of a good win at Sheff Utd, but it does seem that they have to score at least three to win a game at the moment, and that gives me a little hope.

Should be an entertaining game and hopefully we might score more than them.

I'm going for a narrow 10-9 win.

If Colchester are in form after winning one game then what are we?!

I can definitely envisage a home win in this one, so wouldn't be overly surprised. We should be looking to take the three points though without question.

The nature of the win, the performance and the ground it was at? Goals for Moncur and the signature of Sordell. Football works on confidence. I just fancy a Posh/Colchester double this weekend if I'm a betting man.

We are banging in the goals and we do look excellent going forward. There's an awful lot of pace so it's exciting to watch if we get forward quickly enough, and seen a stat just now that we've had more shots on target than anyone else in the top four divisions so far this season. The downside of course is that we look very shaky at the back and are prone to at least one or two decisive lapses in every game.

The squad Humes has assembled actually looks half decent on paper to be fair and, with a bigger budget, we ought to be more comfortable in mid table this year. We usually seem to have decent games with Gillingham so looking forward to this one. Just hope it isn't like last season where we annihilated you for 75 minutes but still managed to lose.

Score draw with at least a third of the crowd being Gills fans.

Think we've sold over 1600 for this one so could make it more like a home game given Colchester's poor crowds.

Think it was only announced at 900 this morning so that would be quite surprising! We should be taking 1500 though, considering both the start and lack of localish games.

We have scored in every game and Col U's last five games netted 24. Obvious 0-0 then.

Yeah, I read 900 tickets had been sold too. It's the first Saturday home game after the school holidays though, so buoyed by a couple of good away performances, hopefully the crowd could be over 5,500 (including good away numbers, of course).

950 sold apparently, pay on the day should take it to about 1100 I'd imagine. Can't help but feel slightly disappointed with that if I'm honest.

The girl behind the counter told me that we were given 1,000 that have sold, so have now been given more. That was on Wednesday.

Colchester really do have our number it seems.

Disappointing to lose the unbeaten record but it had to happen sometime. Sounds like a very open game which we expected. Well done Colchester, you should be comfortable this season with the forward options you have.

Can't agree with dedwardp, it's easier to score against teams when they're reduced to 10 men, or just embarrassing themselves like Sheffield United did in the first half of that game.

7 points from 9 has definitely taken the heat off Humes, but with a huge element of good fortune in each game...

Chesterfield 3-3: played against 10 men for 75 mins; scored a deflected freak goal
Sheff Utd 3-2: the opposition didn't turn up for the 1st half; scored a deflected freak goal; saved penalty
Gillingham 2-1 saved penalty

...this brief upturn in form isn't going to last. We're not going to score enough goals to stop the worst defence in the division from sinking us - it's all very reminiscent of our Championship relegation season I'm afraid!:(
